We had the good fortune of connecting with Keirra Tucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keirra, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Florida a city thats called “Broward County” …
My mom was kind of a strict parent towards me and my sisters growing up, she was such a drill sargent and never showed us love or emotion so that ultimately made me into the person that I am today it created such an impact to on my life because I would always get told that i “can’t do this or i’m not able to do that” coming from my own mom because she seen no possible way how it can happen for me, she would always project her fears on to me and my siblings. My mom wasn’t very much encouraging or pursuing me, or what was meaningful to me. So all of the “You can’t”, “It won’t happen”, i made sure to turn it into “I did it” “I made it happen” ..
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting up my business wasn’t as easy as i thought it would be i first had the idea of creating my own business at the age 22 i started selling replicas of designer wear Customers were inquiring about sales and prices but i grew impatient they were taking forever to make the order so I gave up that was my mistake that I made. I didn’t see results so that I thought it would never happen a year later I tried again I started selling designer onesies. That’s when I got into my spiritual journey started manifesting and scripting etc a month into it I sold out of my onesies the thing with me I will start stop, start & stop I was having highs and lows. I thought that I couldn’t do it because of the things my mom would say as well as other people projecting their fears on to me I gave up for 2 years. Within those two years I ended up getting into a relationship which really distracted my mind from something that I really wanted so bad, the relationship didn’t even last. I ended up giving out more than I was receiving the relationship took away from my craft during my break up I started back brainstorming ways of how to make residual income, so I started my online boutique again which ultimately distracted my mind from my break up. I started doing good with creating my website getting the clothes i put the word out there everyone was excited, during that time I ended up getting into another relationship which set me back even further, because this individual was going through so much in his life to where I was taking care of him, and I couldn’t focus on me, so God had to remove that person out of my life in order for me to get to where I needed to be! that relationship did end well. I was going through the motions and so I decided to just take my anger and pain out on my Business i re-launchrd my boutique and decided not to give up to keep pushing thru during this time i gree closer to god and built that bond with him My lessons was to stop putting people before me, stay consistent with your craft stop being distracted by relationships and complete your missions that god has for you. 3 months later i had the re-opening and i sold out in one night 6 months after that I created a cosmetic line. I don’t know why or how, but the thought kept popping up in my head to create a cosmetic line and you know what they say if you’re imagining something that’s god speaking to you! I reacted on it and my cosmetic line was a success!! And if I can tell anyone else out there stay consistent don’t give up your time is coming. God knows what he’s doing.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Places that I will take my friends are steakhouses, a good time on a yacht, a quick trip to the Bahamas on the ferry from Miami. In a nice dinner, spot named Komodo in Miami in Brickell center!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give credit and recognition to my closest friends.. Kandyce, Jewel, and Shauna they never doubted my dreams, they pushed me to my full potential, encouraged me to become a better woman, never once told me that I can’t do it. These beautiful souls has always been by my side through thick and thin. Never once allowed me to give up on my dreams! For that i really appreciate them, you don’t come around genuine, authentic individuals often in this generation. And them i’ll always cherish!
