We had the good fortune of connecting with Keinosha Keaton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keinosha, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Dallas, Texas. I am the teen parent with three. By the time I was 19, I had three children. I call them the Illustrious Trio. I was a teen parent with no help trying to stay above water while slowly drowning. My background and upbringing played a big part of why God entrusted me with HIS vision and plan fr my life. Your Safe Havenn was birth April 20, 2019. Your Safe Havenn is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Georgia. Your Safe Havenn, Inc is dedicated to providing services to assist individuals affected by human trafficking, teen parenting, homelessness, and other social economic struggles with accessing information, resources, and services that will allow them to gain and maintain self sufficiency. Your Safe Havenn, Inc is a safe place for teens. I was one of those teens, that didn’t have a safe place. I was out in the community and needed without resources and struggled in every area of life as a teen. my vision is big for the teens of Georgia. YSH has a mentorship program, therapist for counseling services, educators, tutors, Drop in clinic to meet medical needs for them(medical and dental), employment services, community service in the community(teaching to care and concern for others), employment opportunities to gain self sufficiency. We offer everything that a child needs tangible, non tangible. We offer emotional and physical support to our youth in our communities. YSH creates opportunities for our teens. My background played a hug part of my success in education, law enforcement and social work. I have 22 years to date working with teens.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am excited about it all when it comes to YSH. We will be teaming up with Department of Juvenile Justice. This is BIG and I love what God is doing in us, through us and for us. I have learned to be patient when it comes to YSH in terms of not being able to make it happen immediately and being at the hands of the stat in a waiting period. It’s hard when all you want to do is implement and save those who are in need in all areas. Our children are our future and they need us to lean and depend on. That has been very challenging in the season before current.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow! I would take them to Plant Based Pizzeria, Hattie Mays Texas Style BBQ in College Park. Juicy Jerk Caribbean in Stone Mountain We would tour downtown because of the many adventures of it. The parks are amazing!! We would tour Stone Mountain Park in Stone Mountain and the tavern downtown Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Katrina Hutchins played a big part in my life over the last few years. She has been a mentor to me in ways I could never replay her. She is sweet, kind, generous, hard working, authentic and she just doesn’t show up in her community. She is present in her community via social media, Columbia, SC, Florida and Atlanta. She’s an amazing Professor and has created a platform for mothers who attend the college of Columbia who attends the social work program as well created a scholarship fund for her college. She is purity!
