We had the good fortune of connecting with Kei Ware and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kei, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Now I have a great handle on my work-life balance but it wasn’t always like that. I remember trying to juggle school, being a mom, working full time, a relationship, friendships, personal time, and all the many roles and I was STRUGGLING! It always felt like I was behind no matter what I actually got done. It wasn’t until I started focusing on my core values and putting my energy into making sure my actions aligned with what actually mattered to me did I feel balance.

Oh yeah! And balance isn’t necessarily about putting an equal amount of time and energy into each thing but it’s about putting the right amount of time into each task that actually matters.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own Premier Personal Growth Firm and the journey to growing my business is… well, it’s still going! I created this firm 2 years ago with the vision of a mental wellness firm that would offer coaching, therapy & digital resources to allow millennials to properly educate themselves about mental health and have the tools needed to reduce their anxiety, increase their awareness and attract more success.

Currently I only offer coaching and digital resources, which can be found on my website! The journey has been challenging because as a one woman team, lot of responsibilities are all mine. That gets overwhelming but I have to keep in mind that slow and steady creates longevity and that’s my goal with Premier Personal Growth Firm.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I LOVE an itinerary! I’m in Douglasville and my favorite restaurant here is Red Velvet Bistro. The catfish and grits have me obsessed!

Then we can hit Smyrna – Atlanta? Who knows! Lol But the Battery would be the next spot where we can pick our fun: movies, Top Golf, arcades, good ass pizza AND an escape room!

And let’s stay in Smyrna- we’ll Marietta- and grab a seat at the bar at Pappadeaux’s.

And as a nature lover, we have to end the week with a visit to Sweetwater Creek State Park and take a hike and relax by the water.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have so many people in my corner than I can shout out but this silent hero definitely deserves the spotlight. I want to shoutout my clinical supervisor, Sylvia, from my semester of internship.

I literally felt like an imposter until I worked with her. I learned so much about my unique talents and instead of trying to put me into a box, she encouraged me to lean into them and use them during my sessions with clients. That encouragement gave me the external support I needed to push forward in my coaching business.
