Meet Keara Chenise | Hair Texture Expert & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keara Chenise and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keara, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I love this question. I believe the creative career chose me honestly. As a child, I gravitated towards art (painting, crafts and music to name a few). Now my clients are my real – life canvases. I use them to showcase beauty and creativity.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Yes, sure! I founded my company Reflect Beauty Co in 2020 during the pandemic when salons were locked down. I needed to pivot to create income for my son and I, especially since my only form of income was put on hold. Two weeks into the shut down, I posted a video on Instagram showcasing a bottle of hair growth oil while explaining how well it grew my hair. That video got over 20,000 views (which was major at this time) and made me a chunk of money lol. The rest at this point was history. Fast forward 3 years later, that single product has expanded into a full line of products that promote longer and stronger hair. Our mission at Reflect Beauty Co is to put the faith back into your hair with the help of our plant-based products.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friends were in town, we’d kick off the weekend with getting pampered at Sugarcoat Nail and Hair Bar in Phipps Plaza. This place is super luxurious and my nails always look great. The next stop is Grand Luxe Cafe for lunch, also located in Phipps on the lower level. I’m in love with Mexican food so I’d definitely order the Nachos. Depending on what season it is, I’d take my friends to either a Braves or Hawks game for an adrenaline kick (haha). A fun-filled day like this would typically end after the game for me however since my besties are in town, we’d go home to get freshened up for dinner. My go-to spot is Apt 4B. This place is a goldmine for Caribbean Cuisine. My favorites plates are the Tamarind Glazed Short Rib and the Oxtail Pasta. I’m getting hungry just mentioning it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mother Kisheena. Thank you for teaching me how to show up everyday! I love you!
