We had the good fortune of connecting with Keandra King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started K&J Flower Company by being a dreamer as well as trying to process my mental health. I realized that flowers gave me peace and made me realize that everything would be OK. And from that moment I knew I had to share it with others because it was simply pure happiness.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a USPS employee as well as a florist. K&J Flower Company is built off of really trying to build a legacy for my family and breaking generational cycles of proverty. My struggle was real and still is. I’m most proud of just being able to share my love of flowers with others, I got here by believing that all things are possible with faith, consistency, and integrity. It’s definitely not easy because of self doubt and worry, but each day I wake determined to beat mental health and self doubt and to create beautiful arrangements for others to just stop and smell the flowers. The world should know that anything is possible with consistency and faith.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well this would be short and simple being that I’m a homebody and simply perfer a night in because why I have everything at home…lol. but if I had to entertain I would take them to breakfast at Gutbusters, luch at a small taco joint in lithia springs and dinner at home because I enjoy cooking as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes absolutely God first and always, and therapy.
