Hi Kayla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up, my family threw parties for any and every occasion. Coming together and celebrating life was apart of our culture and one of the many factors that inspired me venture into owning my own business. I decided to start my event styling business because it perfectly aligns with my core passions and strengths. From a young age, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for creativity and the art of bringing people together. The joy of seeing smiles on people’s faces during well-executed events is truly unmatched. My background in hospitality has equipped me with the skills necessary to curate unforgettable experiences. I realized that event styling allows me to merge my artistic flair with meticulous organization, resulting in seamless and memorable occasions. I find immense satisfaction in the process of turning a client’s vision into a reality. It’s incredibly rewarding to collaborate closely with individuals, understanding their unique desires, and then weaving those elements into an event that surpasses their expectations.
Beyond the creativity and fulfillment, I am also driven by the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Events often mark significant moments in individuals’ lives, whether it’s a wedding, a milestone birthday, or significant life event. Being a part of these moments and contributing to the happiness of others is not just a profession for me; it’s a vocation.
In summary, my event planning business is an embodiment of my passion for creativity, my ability to bring people together, and my commitment to making lasting, joyous memories for my clients. It’s a journey that allows me to turn dreams into reality and to spread happiness, and that’s why I started this venture!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
While many event stylists have a signature style, I pride myself on adapting my creativity to the unique vision and personality of each client. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I work closely with my clients to understand their preferences, style, and the atmosphere they want to create. This personalized touch ensures that every event I style is a reflection of my client’s individuality, making it truly special and memorable.Throughout the entire process of starting Affairs That Dazzle, I’ve faced many challenges. The biggest challenge has been realizing my worth and applying. Sometimes stepping out on faith can be hard but with dedication and passion i believe anything is possible. Maintaining a balance in my life has help me overcome whatever is throw my way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love adventure, traveling and creating new experiences. If i were vacationing in my city i would start my trip with small drive down to the Chateau Elan and experience a phenomenal massage and end the day with some wine tasting. With all the nature trails and water excursions i would add in a nice hike along the Chatahoochee river followed by a nice dinner at the Southern Gnetlemen, which is one of my favorite go to spots in the city. I would spend time exploring the city, visiting various museums, restaurants and participating in activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to my parents for their unwavering support and the invaluable tools they provided me on my journey to start this business. From the very beginning, my parents instilled in me the values of hard work, determination, and resilience. Their guidance and encouragement were instrumental in shaping my entrepreneurial spirit. They taught me the importance of pursuing my passions and never giving up on my dreams. Beyond their words of wisdom, my parents also provided me with the practical tools and resources necessary to turn my business idea into a reality. Whether it was offering financial assistance during the initial stages, providing a listening ear for countless brainstorming sessions, or simply being a source of emotional support, their contributions have been immeasurable.
Their belief in me, even during moments of doubt, has been a driving force. It’s their belief that has pushed me to reach for the stars and aim higher with every endeavor. I want to acknowledge that my success wouldn’t be possible without them. Their sacrifices, love, and belief in my abilities have fueled my determination to make this business a reality.
So, to my incredible parents, I want to say thank you. Thank you for being my pillars of strength, for providing me with the tools and support I needed to start this business, and for being my biggest cheerleaders every step of the way.
