We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Rumph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career because, to me, creativity is like turning ideas into visual stories that speak louder than words. It’s a way to communicate and connect on a deeper level, where the visuals and the concepts do the talking. Pursuing a creative career really describes my personality, as I’m drawn to artsy things and love creating a unique perspective behind the lens. As a marketing and social media coordinator for a media company, I blend my passion for content creation, creative directing, and embracing my inner fashionista. There’s something incredibly amusing and fulfilling about working with art and concepts, seeing how they come together to form something that resonates with people. Working events also allows me to network with other individuals and collaborate with those seeking new ideas. For me, it’s not just a career; it’s a way of life that lets me express my vision in ways that words alone can’t capture.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is my unwavering determination and commitment to my goals, grounded in my faith. While many might follow the crowd, I choose to create my own lane, guided by my faith and my ability to think outside the box. My unique style and approach allow me to stand out, as I refuse to conform to the norm. My gift is something I deeply value and feel is part of a divine plan. I’m most proud of my perseverance and the fact that I haven’t given up on myself, despite the challenges. I’m excited about what the future holds and am guided by my faith, knowing that God has written my story and continues to lead me. My journey has been marked by hard work, dedication, and trusting in God’s plan, and I’m eager to see how He will continue to unfold my path.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting and we wanted to enjoy a relaxing time, I’d focus on calm and cozy experiences. We’d start with a movie night at home, enjoying a selection of our favorite films. For dining, I’d take us to a charming restaurant with a great atmosphere for a quiet meal. If we’re up for an outing, an intimate concert or a small, local event would be ideal. We could also spend time at home creating vision boards and playing Uno. It’s all about enjoying the simple pleasures and quality time together in a comfortable, low-key setting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a heartfelt shout-out to the many mentors who have played a significant role in my journey. Having mentors, people who offer guidance, support, and sometimes push you out of your comfort zone has been crucial. My deepest gratitude goes to my mother, Lia Jeffries, whose unwavering support and encouragement have shaped who I am today. I also want to acknowledge my close circle of friends who consistently inspire and uplift me. Their genuine belief in my potential and their encouragement have been instrumental in my growth.

Additionally, I want to extend my thanks to all the events I’ve attended and worked on, with photos attached below. I’m grateful for each opportunity, as they have allowed me to network, grow, and further develop my skills. This shout-out is for all those who have been there for me and continue to support my future endeavors.
