Hi Kayla, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes! One of my favorite quotes comes from the late, great Nipsey Hussle: “It’s not on you, it’s in you and what’s in you, they cannot take away”. This quote keeps me confident in my daily life because it tells me that what God has put in me to share with this world is embedded in my DNA and not a soul can take that from me or do it like me!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a woman who wears many hats from designing, blogging, styling, too creative directing. I believe what sets me apart is my ability to execute and do so many things ( when working with me, I’m sort of a one stop shop in a sense) , which is rare in the industry. Getting to where I am now hasn’t been a walk in the park, I have experienced many up’s and down’s, stagnant seasons and so on but I never allowed that to stop me. I still created, and still put my work out for the world to see. I am most proud of my magazine publications and creating my own brand from scratch ( It went from a dream to reality within a month). My brand “Selectively Social” is a unisex brand that offers unique/ custom pieces. Selectively Social means ” Intentionally keeping your social circle small” , which is a complete reflection of who I am.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my close friends and family, without their support nothing I’ve accomplished would have been possible. From their prayers, encouragement , honesty, opinions, and push I would have never gotten this far. Also, a special shoutout to my sis ASh for nominating for this series.
