Meet Kaye Sanders | Founder &CEO of K1 Management: Entertainment Management

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaye Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaye, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing about my industry that outsiders are probably unaware of is that are SO many different types of managers, especially in the entertainment industry. Majority of the time, artists have 1 to 2 managers, which are Personal and Business. Usually these managers take on all aspects, but to break it down you have more manager and managerial duties:

Account Manager
Talent Manager
Tour/Road Manager
Day to Day Manager
PR Manager (optional)

Plus more. I am one of the managers who is qualified to take on all roles and form of management. Which is a big plus. 

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the Founder and CEO of K1 Management. It is an entertainment management established in 2019 in Montgomery, Alabama. I would like to say it is a Management that seeks up and coming artists who wants to get more exposure and achieve the highest level to be an A list artist and come in contact with major celebrities.

Me being an artists myself, I know what it is like trying to do all the work yourself,managing yourself while creating artistry, needing that help, but also anxious and having that issue of being screwed over by underlying contracts. I like to sit and explain to artists that trust is a big factor and I definitely can relate and want to help and manage on a comfortable, trust-worthy level to get to the correct people,labels,etc. I like to push my artists to go to great lengths and will teach them the business aspects of the industry so that they will not have to be screwed over in the long run.

I also have another business I am venturing in as well. Eyefire by Kaye, which is an eye beauty care line. It will provide and have products for your eyes and skin. Coming soon

As mentioned before, I am also an artist. I have been doing music for over 10 years. My artist name is Kaye. New music releases are coming soon as well. I am just more a behind the scenes person, which is why I ventured into Business Management.

Being a female in this industry is also not the easiest in this male dominant field. I definitely had my fair share of unfairness in the field, but built myself with my standards to succeed and continue pushing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite spots in the city would be The Private Parlor, located in Buckhead. It is definitely a nice grown and sexy vibe rather you rent out the event center or they are having an event there themselves. Another place I rock with would have to be ihookah in Marietta. When I tell you Wednesday karaoke nights be lit!! I am also a big kid at heart, so I love to take my kids and my friends to places like Stars and Strikes, Dave and Busters, Atlantic Station, Main Event, The Works for some good eateries, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my entire family for their support since I decided as a young girl I wanted to be in Management. Also my best friend, Kiara, who has been my support bestie and all around best friend when I need her for 21 + years.

And I lastly have to shoutout my two beautiful, intelligent, blessing angel kids. They have seen their mom go through alot more than a kid should ever see their parents go through, but is a witness to see their mother did it and studied, work, and took care of her kids alone, with help from family, to bring success and keep showing my kids to never give up. You may have slip ups, but they make you the person you want to grow to be.

And shoutout God and MYSELF because without him nothing is possible and I had to love and believe in myself to have others do the same and not give up on my business.
