Meet Katherin Hernandez | Makeup artist and brows technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katherin Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katherin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting a business is not easy, in those moments there is fear present in our thoughts, but I always had the motivation not to give up and I knew that I always capable of achieving it with the help of God. I wanted to find a way to work independently in this country and in something that I like and I achieved it

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I definitely call what I do art, since my canvas is the face of each person I serve every day, I am very proud of myself to see how much I have achieved since I started with nothing, only with many dreams in my head but with work, perseverance and dedication I have been making it a reality little by little!! Starting is not easy at all, especially when you are in a country that is not where you were born with a different language. There are many fears that overwhelm our thoughts, but along this path I have learned something very important: “fear does not let you move forward” so what do you have to do? throw it away and believe in yourself!! my career has given me many lessons both professionally and personally that have helped me to be the woman I am today, more self-confident every day, with determination, with enthusiasm and above all with the desire to continue fighting for my dreams! ! I am an example that everything starts from scratch, I am an immigrant, I arrived in this country with only two suitcases and with a lot of desire to work and get ahead honestly, I sold food, worked in warehouses, in construction, in cleaning but always my focus was another and here I am proud of what I have achieved!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
wow!! this is a moment in my life that I want to make come true one day! my best friend still lives in Venezuela but if I had the joy of living this moment with her, I would take her to an outdoor park to talk for long hours, that our children play and have fun, I would love to take her to Disney and enjoy from the theme parks, eating in different places (I’m not picky about food) and I would also take her to Miami to show her how my beginnings in the United States were!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
without a doubt my family, they have been a fundamental part of my evolution, they were the first people who trusted in my abilities and knew that I could achieve it, at times when fear and insecurity were present in me they gave me encouragement So I thank God for having them in my life and I will always be grateful to them.
