Meet Katara Johnson

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katara Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I don’t want to keep working for others following their rules. I also wanted to reach out and help others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other artists is that, due to my past positions, I consider myself more of a creative inspirational author than just an author. I was a promoter, had a podcast for authors and other artists, and I also spoke out in the community. Some of the challenges I had to overcome is me getting in my own way or thinking that I could not write, create or help others. I felt more confident when my relationship with God grew. I start my day with having my power hour with God and then I write after that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to either Orlando and Tampa and spend a few days there, shopping, site seeing , trying different restaurants. I like visiting new areas of a city or town, that I read about or saw on social media or trying new or different restaurants.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family Mom, Dad, my son Jason, Brother Kevin , Sister in law Carly , Nephew Kai and niece Lilly for always supporting me.
My spiritual sister Dr. Prophetess Hope Hall for visioning my children’s book.
