We had the good fortune of connecting with Kat Goduco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kat, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
In the 11 years that I’ve been a full-time entrepreneur, the most important lesson I have learned is to do what you say you are going to do. Professionalism goes a long way, and keeping your word goes even longer. “Deliver as promised” is a motto I like to keep in mind constantly, whether providing an image for a client or a valuable product. If I had to pick another important lesson, I would say that during hard times and/or even when things are good, keep on going and pushing yourself, always stay active.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I decided to be a photographer full-time, my initial focus was to find the beauty in all things. Over the years, I have found that I enjoy photographing people, fabrics, and movement the most. While my business specializes in corporate, commercial photography, as an artist, I enjoy creating collections that tell a story involving those elements. I believe things that are meant for you are effortless, but the journey is never easy. Just know that you gotta believe in yourself to make your dreams and plans come through. You will go through a plethora of emotions and experiences, try to constantly remind yourself of your goals to help you keep focused. That is what I try to do daily. The one thing I would like the world to know about my brand is that what I produce has the mindset of constantly providing quality, authenticity, and value.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I love to eat and my itinerary would include a bunch of food spots. Pitboss in Hapeville, Bobo Garden on Buford Hwy for the fried lobster, Highland Bakery for the sweet potato pancakes, Malaya for the Spicy String Beans, Carrot Dog at the MET, Chicago Pizza in Smyrna for the deep dish, and if timing works attend a Kamayan ATL pop up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people that have helped me grow in my journey. To get this far in entrepreneurship, groups of people would have had to be involved in building one’s success. However, if I had to pick one, my partner in life, Dubelyoo (an artist as well), has been a grounding force of focus for me. He has been supportive, direct and a great source to bounce fundamental ideas off on. Without him, I’d be fine, but with him, I am able to challenge myself and see things from a more artistic perspective.
