We had the good fortune of connecting with KaShunti Farmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KaShunti, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
There have been several lessons that my business/entrepreneurship has taught me. One of the most important is: to always be in a constant state of learning. There will be a point in business where you’ll feel as if you’ve “arrived” to your pinnacle. While you may have reached a milestone or goal point, you should always be willing to learn what is necessary to go past that point. The sky is truly the limit and complacency is dangerous in business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career as a Virtual Assistant has been a short one, but one filled with lessons that I’ll take with me forever. What sets me apart from other Virtual Assistants is that I offer a luxe, individualized, yet streamlined workflow and process to each of my clients. I realize that they’re all different, and I am able to reach each of them on their level and cater to their business’ unique needs. I am most proud of the diverse group of clients I’ve worked with and that I am able to assist pretty much anyone with their administrative needs, because every business needs an administrator.
I’ve overcome the challenges of being an entrepreneur by not giving up and always taking things a day at a time. Step by step. And, I want the world to know that Pure Life Consulting is more than just a business. I work to foster relationships with my clients where they feel safe in knowing that they have someone on their team who has their backs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week long trip, I could see me and my best girls on an island or somewhere tropical. We’d be beach side with a margarita in our hands, sun in our faces, and our feet in the sand. We’d eat all of the cultural food, but also have a private chef for our personal dining preferences. The girls love a good surf and turf. We’d definitely hit the spa for some self care, and the mall/shopping centers for a little retail therapy. Knowing us, we’d also host a business lunch where we’d discuss our businesses, goals, and upcoming plans for our lives. The most fun and interesting places are the ones we’ve never experienced before. The exciting thing is that we’re all open minded to trying new things.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I could give credit and recognition to anyone on my story, it would have to be my clients. I have worked with some amazing, beautiful, black bosses. Without them, PLC wouldn’t exist or function. They make my job easy and worthwhile, and I love to serve them as their Virtual Assistant.
