We had the good fortune of connecting with Kashaveli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kashaveli, how do you think about risk?
I look at risks as opportunity to further success, there’s no reward without risk. However take calculated risks, as you never know where the risk can take you.
I’ve been taking risks my whole career and they brought me to where I am today. I learned to bet on myself if I’m going to bet on anything. If I never moved on the risks I took in my life, I wouldn’t be rapping, directing, succeeding etc.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an artist, songwriter, director, musician and marketing specialist. To be transparent, I really do it all! I take pride in my accomplishments because I am truly a product of the grind. The road hasn’t been the easiest but that’s what we sign up for right? My music is known for the vibes that it brings as well as the authenticity of my subject matter. Me and my long time friend and Producer DMartian are pioneering our own genre of sound titled “Speed Music”. With this genre comes a variety of up-tempo and slower beats, rage worthy cadences and flows matched with colorful melodies. You can listen to one of my songs 20 different times and hear something different. I’m very proud of where I’ve come from and where I’m headed, so far I have grossed over 80k streams as an independent artist in 2 years and I still have much more in store! What sets me apart from others is simply my mind. What sets my music apart from others is the vibe and persona, you’ll feel as cool as me while you’re listening to Kashaveli.
I’ve faced adversity and learned a lot about the industry and the business aspect of it. For the most part my music journey has been smooth, my passion lies with the music so every step I’ve taken so far has propelled me in the right direction. Some of the struggles I’ve faced are establishing a balance in my life and networking with the right people. College is not easy, however my degree is on the horizon.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a huge ice cream connoisseur. My favorite spot to hit in Atlanta is The Yard. They have great ice cream and milkshakes, I even got the jar one time so I could bring it back to NC with me. I also hit up Lennox Square when I’m in the A. you never know who you could meet in Atlanta. My friend Joseph Davinci shows me around to many spots, too many to count. When I’m on business I lock in at Patchwerk Studios for the highest quality sounds in the area, Day1Cash is one of the hardest producers in the area that I’ve worked with. I’d definitely recommend him if you’re an independent artist working in the city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family, my team and supporters. They all mean the world to me and keep me grounded! You’re only as lit as your team. Big shoutout to the whole WEALIENS crew, DMartian, Dru, KJ, Wade and many more. I can’t name everybody but all the people mentioned has played an immense part in my journey.
