We had the good fortune of connecting with Karyn Staples, PT, PhD, NCPT and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karyn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to work with patients and clients in an environment and with the quality I wanted to drive. I have a passion for what I do as a physical therapist and I also found Pilates as a wonderful discipline with a rehabilitation focus. My goal was to work with individuals along the wellness spectrum.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I was a sophomore in high school, we had to research a career along with shadow an individual in that career. I choose physical therapy mainly due to the influence of my paternal grandfather. The entire time I knew him he was paralyzed from a coal mining accident. I wanted to be in healthcare to help others move better and feel better. From that sophomore year in high school, I was able to have a path forward for my college education focus and overall career. I have and continue to work with amazing people every day. I enjoy the time I get to be a part of an individual’s life and see them improve to return to the activities they enjoy. As I have grown in my career, I have had the privilege to mentor others. Mentoring has allowed me to work with the next generation of professionals and see them improve the lives of others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am going to answer to represent my town–Peachtree City, GA

Eating: The Beirut, Palmers, Elliott’s, Kale to the Chef, and Azul Tequilla

Experiences: Golf carting along the multi-use paths, Hang out at Blume Organics Boutique and Cafe, attend a concert at The Fred Amphitheatre, walking along Line Creek at the Nature Preserve

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Patrick Staples, is my biggest fan and supporter. I truly would not have started this clinic without his support and guidance. Ellie White-Stevens with Dirt1X has provided amazing marketing support and guidance over the past 10+ years. My co-workers over the past 18 years have allowed me to grow as a clinician, mentor, and leader.
