We had the good fortune of connecting with Karima Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karima, how do you think about risk?
What I think about risk taking is you either Go big, or Go home. I believe life is all about taking risk, whether it fails or go through as planned . Risk taking has played a major role in my life and in my career. I never really wanted to work for anybody for a 9-5 or 12 hour shifts like I use to do because I knew exactly what lifestyle I wanted to live and punching a clock is something that I didn’t want to do. I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur and have multiple businesses and different sources of income but it was hard to work on those when I had to attend to my full time job on top of being a full time student where I’m currently a student at Miller Motte College in Columbus, Ga majoring in Criminal Justice. Taking risk made me meet faces that I’ve never thought I get to meet and work with and it opened me up to many opportunities that were once dreams that turned into reality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is that I’m committed and I don’t want to stop until I can look back and say I made it. No it was not easy, it was definitely stressful which came with lack of sleep and not so much motivation but, I never gave up because I knew there was a goal I was reaching for and dreams that I was chasing after so I kept it going. I always tell people to never give up because the day you decide you want to give up may just be the day you have a chance of winning. Consistency is key. By overcoming these challenges, I had to put everything to the side and step out on faith. You cannot be scared of doing what you want to do because it will never get done. The lessons I learned along the way was that, Everybody is not going to be proud of you, everybody is not going to congratulate or root for you, everybody don’t wish to see you win and Everybody is not your friend either. I’ve also had to learn that things don’t happen overnight, it takes time and consistency. Keeping that mindset that you have to be patient and good things will come your way when it’s time, made me realize that when you manifest everything you want and desire, your vision will happen at the least expected times but just at the right time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spot in my city would be Downtown Broadway where there are lots of places to go have fun sight see and eat at. Downtown is also where they have the riverwalk where people go fishing, ride their boats , zip line and many more. Outside of Columbus, I love to travel to Atlanta, Ga and get a view of the city and enjoy of the nightlife there. One of my favorite places to go there is called Cirque Daiquiri where the Food is bomb, Music is great and they even have some nights throughout the week where they do karaoke and you can either sit inside or outside and have a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank first and foremost the man above ‘God’ and my mom. Without them 2, I don’t know where I would be right now. They are the ones who keep me motivated and driven. I would also like to thank everybody in general who supported me and spread the word about who I am and what I do, it truly means a lot to me and I’m so grateful for everybody who made this happen.
