We had the good fortune of connecting with Kariji Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kariji, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered for my leadership in the music industry. Also, I want people to remember me for my music and generosity towards my community. When I leave this earth, I want to leave behind my teachings about the power of sound and its frequencies. I want others to know how knowing frequencies can transform any given environment.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me a part is my ability to interpret music. I am proud and looking forward to many more major placements . I got where I am today with hard work and years of dedication. Of course, it wasn’t easy but I chose to persevere through it all. I want others to know that timing is everything and that if you keep God first things will align.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came in town for a week we would stay in at the Westin Hotel because the view is amazing! The sundial restaurant is pretty good I must say at top of The Westin! Tuesday we would go to the trap museum. Go see the MLK Center. Make our way to grab food at The Varsity. Wednesday we’ll start at the Aquarium, then take a scroll to Phillip Plaza. Lunch time at Nobu. Watch a movie at Saks Fifth and do some retail therapy. Thursday we’ll start at Jeju Spa then we’ll head to South Atlanta and stop at The Atlanta Fish House & Grill. Take a tour at Tyler Perry Studios. Friday we’ll cruise the beltline. Saturday we’ll go to White Water & Six Flags. Sundays is for church.
