We had the good fortune of connecting with Karen Menjivar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karen, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, I believe the most meaningful contribution I can make to my son’s life is to help him recognize and cherish the everyday blessings around him. Building a strong foundation in his faith is essential to guiding him through life’s challenges. Understanding the principles of right and wrong through his faith and a deep respect for God will help him make thoughtful choices and treat others with kindness and integrity.

I know that everyone makes mistakes and that we sometimes fall short in how we treat others. My hope is that with a solid sense of right and wrong rooted in his faith, he will always have a guide to help him navigate these moments and grow from them. I want him to understand what is expected of him and to remember that God’s guidance is meant to bring us joy and fulfillment.

Additionally, I strive to teach him the value of being present and truly enjoying each moment. Life is made up of these precious moments, and I want him to create and cherish meaningful memories. I hope he will look back on his life with fondness, remembering the times he followed his heart, took chances, and learned from his experiences. Most importantly, I want him to always feel the love I have for him and to know how much it has meant to be his mother.

As he grows and takes on future roles as a husband and father, my hope is that he becomes a strong, caring, and thoughtful individual who leads with both strength and warmth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a make-up artist & a content creator. When it comes to make-up I am always excited to know that I am apart of making someone’s special day that much more exciting and wonderful. When I see their reaction or their videos/ pictures I get so much pleasure of knowing that I created a meaningful moment and a memory that will carry forever. Wedding, quince, prom or photo shoots, it’s amazing to see people be so happy while seeing themselves done up and experriancing a new “unlocked beauty” lol. To me showing someone how to bring out their beauty with tips and tricks in art is so peaceful & rewarding to me.

As a content creator I love making videos that can show everyday motivation. Such as cleaning videos, spending time with family, running errands & vacations. I use to always suffer from Anixety and depression and even now sometimes some days aren’t perfect. But, on those days I know a lot of us experience them and I want to be able to show that everyday can still be enjoyed. I love posting music and cleaning videos to motivate people to watch them and GET UP and attack those feelings rather than sinking in them. Sinking in those thoughts can hurt us. Videos with me enjoying my day out or family especially vacations is something i only dreamed of. Growing up with my mom worked a lot, I sometimes rarely saw my mother. She would work up to 3 jobs at times and that was hard for me . I grew up without knowing a lot of things and being fearful of a lot others and not always having the means to do those things. Such as eating out in restaurants with my family or going on vacations. So now that i do those things with my own family it gives me such joy and truly makes me appreciate the blessings.
CHALLENGES BEING A CONTENT CREATOR:

I did have a lot of challenges becoming a content creator. A relationship i was in when I wanted to initially wanted to start this was completely against it. He would go as far as blocking my apps or breaking my phone. Of course now I am happy that i was able to know better and walk away from that, but that pushed me more to wanting to share more about my life and overcoming certain obstacles. Also, shyness and cringing lol. I am not a shy person perhaps but I can overthink what peoples option of me could be and weather they will or would like my content or even my personality. I often overthink it. Once i got the “go” lol by so many compliments I lost the shyness and began to record record record!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend came from out of town, what are the places we would see or things we would do? I would take her to Real Tacos in Sugar Hill during the fall, to enjoy the outdoor patio because they have amazing food and that’s where I grew up! I would love to show her around and possibly walk around, showing her how different the city looks now.

As far as fun things go, I would try to see if we could rent a boat or something, show her around the lakes, and then jump off the boat to swim and have some fun in the water. I love the water—riding on the boat for hours and seeing all the places around the lake area would be wonderful.

To close off the weekend, we would definitely have to go dancing. I’m unsure of any really good spots, but we would find somewhere to move our bodies, lol. The goal would be to end the night overwhelmed with happiness and laughter.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out two remarkable individuals who have greatly impacted my life: my son and my mother.

My son is the heart of everything I do. He is the reason I strive to be my best, and each decision I make is with his well-being in mind. I carefully consider how my choices might influence his future, shaping him into a thoughtful man, supportive husband, and caring father. Even when faced with challenges, it is his presence that gives me the strength to keep moving forward. I believe that my son has been a profound gift, filling my life with love and purpose and guiding me through everything I do. I truly believe he is the love I always needed. He is what made me find myself and made me whole. Anthonii made me become the best version of myself.

My mother has been my rock and source of unwavering support. During my most trying times, she helps me find my strength and stay focused on what truly matters. Her resilience and courage throughout her life have been a beacon of inspiration for me. Her constant reassurance that “everything will be okay” gives me the comfort and confidence I need to persevere.
