Meet Kanita Stewart | Corporate Recruiter & Serial Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kanita Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kanita, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk are so necessary especially if you want your business to succeed. Progress always involves risks. You can’t steal second base and keep your foot on first. You don’t know how the future will play out or if your business will be successful if you don’t take risk. I take risk on a regular, from my 9-5 to my businesses. In order to grow and move forward in business and life, you have to just jump out there sometimes. Take the risk or lose the opportunity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am so proud of the growth of my businesses. I like to say I am a serial entrepreneur because I like to explore and try out new things. I am always growing and learning in my professional career. I am always trying to get better and learn more. I am most proud of being the QUEEN OF HUSTLE. One thing about me, I am going to get the job done! Of course it wasn’t easy getting to where I am today but it was totally worth it and will continue to worth it as I continue on my journey. Somebody somewhere is depending on me to do what God called me to do…so I have to keep going, I have to keep pushing forward. I want the world to know that through all the adversity, I always kept my eyes on the prize. I got pregnant with my oldest daughter when I was a junior in college. I was told by multiple people that I wouldn’t be able to graduate with her.. but I did it. I then went back to school for my Masters degree and completed my 2 year program in ten months with both of my daughters. We cannot let people put their fears on us. If God placed the idea on our heart, he will provide the resources.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my bestfriend to visit the Cake-wich Craft Bake Shop (www.cakewichcraft.com) Her desserts are so yummy!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a whole tribe!
So although I don’t want to individually shout people out because there was a lot of people who helped me get to where I am today, I would like to shoutout groups instead!
I was on the wrong path between 10th and 11th grade. So there were many people who helped shaped who I am today. From my high school teachers to family to my friends family. I am so appreciative of everything that was poured into me. The guidance, the push, and the love.. and maybe even letting my live with you during trying times! I will never forget those moments.
If you went to Wesley College or lived in Delaware during the time I was there raising my girls (2016-2019).. we appreciate you. If you cared for them, watched them, brought things for them, or even supported them (us) in anyway.. we love you and appreciate you.
To everyone who shares my post, comments, likes, etc., on and off social media.. THANK YOU!
Lastly, to my support system currently. I wouldn’t be here without you. I love ya’ll forever! Thank you for continuing to show up for me. When I make my first million, we out! 🙂
