We had the good fortune of connecting with Kandyce Hansbrough and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kandyce, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The people that support me and my want to make special moments last forever.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My company has expanded! Initially we only did photography and I absolutely love it! However, when the pandemic hit, it forced me to create and express differently… and that’s how Kandyd Art was created!! Yes, we still do photoshoots, but now we also offer art based photography that you can hang in your home, office, or altar space!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has so much to offer so wow lol where do I start!! I love Peters Street Station! It’s full of good vibes, dope art, beautiful people, and amazing food!! To top it off it’s owned by local black artists in Atlanta and for me… that energy is everything! Another couple of places we would hang out would definitely be little 5 points and Ponce City Market!! Again these areas have local businesses, beautiful art, and great vibes… you can just walk around and find amazing things to do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t do any of this without my amazing wife, Sheena! She’s been my backbone through this entire process!
