Meet Kamille Caldwell | Artist & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamille Caldwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kamille, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Knowing whether to keep going or to give up has been the theme for this phase of my life. This year has presented some challenges to me, that I think were set in front of me to see if I really want the life that I see for myself. Whenever I feel down or like there’s nothing in this world for me, I look back at some of my accomplishments. I also think about the strong support system that I’ve been blessed with. I know that this journey isn’t going to be easy, and I also know that to get to where I want to. be requires me to push through every obstacle… and that is what I plan to do. Doubt finds its way into our lives when we forget that we have a purpose to fulfill in this life, my faith in God and in myself is too strong. I can’t give up.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I’d like to share with the community is my passion for what I do. Photography is my favorite way of creative expression and I know that I can create those picture perfect moments for anyone who is wanting to work with me. What sets me apart from other artists/photographers is that I don’t move based on ego. I am here to enjoy this life and create for myself and others who are interested in my craft. The journey that got me to where I am now was not easy, but I overcome these challenges by doing what is necessary for my mental health, finding new things that bring me inspiration, and by creating for myself and not expecting everyone to like or understand my work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you have a friend visiting in town, I would definitely recommend taking them to Little Five Points and the High Museum of Art. Those are my two favorite spots in Atlanta and I think it is perfect for someone who is looking forward to meeting new people, shopping, and checking out cool art. I love going to those places because I always make a new friend and leave feeling very warm inside.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a special shoutout to my loving support system. I am so happy that God blessed me with the family and friends that I am surrounded by, your love fills me up and pushes me to keep going. There have been days where I thought about giving up but that whisper of reassurance of how loved and supported I am always comes through, at the right time. I’ve fallen many times, but I always get back up and I go even harder. I’ve gained a lot of wisdom from the people that God has sent my way. I want to give a special shoutout to everyone who has supported me in any way…there’s too much love surrounding me to just thank a few people.
