We had the good fortune of connecting with Kali Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kali, what are you inspired by?
What inspires and or drives my success is my family of creatives who don’t believe in having a fall back plan. Growing up with a father who is the owner and lead bass player of one of the longest running reggae bands in history “Inner Circle’ and a mother who is the backbone of the whole family’s success. I mean she is a true super mom! Growing up she signed me up for every extra curricular activity and drove me to every single audition. Also, being the baby of the family watching all my siblings make their BIG dreams come true. That pressure of being “up next” is very much felt and over here pressure definitely makes diamonds. So in short my biggest inspiration is my family who has shown me what success looks like and continuously empowers me to not give up on my goals even when it gets hard and feels unobtainable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of the TV pilot my team and I wrote and filmed this year that we are pitching to major streaming platforms called “Game Peep Game”. Also a podcast I have coming out with my friends “Lovie Simone” and “Cleotrappa “called the game of life Podcast: The girls edition produced by my production company. Nothing was easy, but I truly feel like I am in alignment with what I’m supposed to be doing, so the flow has been in a way effortless. One of the major lessons I’ve learned along the way is not to wait for your ideas to be perfect to see it through, create don’t wait! As you grow you will continuously get better. Another big lesson is to work with efficient people with genuine energy and something I want the world to know about my brand is like myself, it encapsulates truth, vulnerability and a whole lot of with passion.
I would also like to add my team is putting together an event for Miami Art Week during Art Basel on Dec 2, 2021, the first part of the event will be highlighting Women in Film, part two is the premiere of “Game Peep Game”. Please tap in to my Instagram (@rarevisionary_) for more updates or if you would like to be apart of the event email me at kalilewis.productions@gmail.com .
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend came to Atlanta for the week a few things we would have to do is The Getaway Cabins which is an glamours camping experience an hour away from the city, hit Reverb my favorite roof top bar and a few restaurants like Bar Taco, Food Terminal, Tuk Tuk and Sunday you would definitely find us at Rum Punch Brunch !
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give the most credit to the most high because He writes the story and everything I have and will have is because God gifted it to me. But I would also like to give a big shout out to my family, close friends and The whole “ Let’s Talk Productions” team.
