We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalea Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kalea, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?

SBKHair & Wellness salon is inspired by the owner Kalea Turner Master Cosmetologist Master herbalist and Certified Trichology and her passion for health and hair Care. Seeing a lot of her clients start to have different hair loss issues as well as scalp problem due to Medication, Hair care products used and or lifestyle. I wanted to create a place where she could help prevent a variety of hair and scalp conditions with natural and Organic products that have been created and formulated to a person’s hair condition and hair P.H. By having control over the type of water and products used clients will benefit greatly. And by doing so we have the ability heal/treat every person’s hair and scalp condition. We offer all different kinds of services from the famous Vegan silk press, hair loss treatments to flawless extensions. Offering 100% Raw cuticle Cambodian hair that will last you up to 2-3 year with proper care.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I specialize in the health and wellness of the hair, bringing you healing to the body from the outside in. All my products I use in my salon are all natural ,vegan and handmade by yours truly. My products increase blood flow which allows the hair to grow. Even my hot tools are infused with natural mica and black onyx stone, which allows steam to straight or curl hair and at the same time healing energy from the stones are being transferred into the body. I use red/blue light Ozone steam to increase blood circulation and promote hair growth for clients that are having hair growth , thinning issues .Clients see results in less than 14 days by using my products and staying on a hair care regimen. I am very proud of myself , I have formulated all of my products myself. It took a lot of time , trial a error from start to finish, a lot of sleepless nights and days and a bunch of studying to get it to perfection. I’ never gave up and what you see now is a direct result of that. I’ve learned on this journey that your vision and dreams matter and can make a difference in this world .No one is going to hand it to you , you have to be dedicated and put in work that needs to be done and water it so it can grow into your vision and dreams. And if people doubt you let them because at the end of the day it’s all about you not them. Put out good energy and vibes so you can get the same energy back to you in return. My brand is a representation of me, my history , my roots and how I was raised, to heal yourself with nature and the things God put on this earth for us to live healthy and free.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely LOVE to eat so we first are going to go to a nice lounge with good music . Good vibes and good food. Have some drinks smoke some hookah and eat. The next day we’re hitting up a good brunch spot , we’re going to get dressed up cute and go grub . After that do a bit of shopping, go in a nature walk and check out a movie.

I want to thank my mother Sharalene for teaching me the importance of taking care of yourself and following your dreams no matter how crazy or hard it may seem. She has taught me a lot and molded me into the woman and mother i am today. I also want to thank my husband Jamie for always believing in me and encouraging me. I dedicate this to my two kiddos Arman and Alohalani everything I do is for you guys, I love you beyond words..
