We had the good fortune of connecting with Kala Booth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kala, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I initially started making butters for myself because lotions just were not cutting it for me anymore. I made some for my friends and family and they loved my butters, they stayed moisturized all day and the ingredients were all natural. So as more and more people started requesting my butters, I started my business. I started with the thought process of making natural skin products that would help to keep you moisturized all day and also you would want to use them because the ingredients were natural and things that you could pronounce. My business has definitely grown from 4 years ago and I still strive to provide skin products that help to nourish your skin while helping you to achieve healthy glowing skin.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am excited to see where my business will be in the next 5 years, really even by the end of the year. I put a lot into my business and want more in return. Running a business is not easy and then you add in motherhood and full time employee and it’s a struggle. I am still figuring out how to really balance the three but I know it will be worth it in the end when I am working for myself. I have learned so much about myself by being a entrepreneur, I have found my strength in a sense, no matter what happens I keep going and figure out a way to solve whatever issue my arise. It’s not easy but it’s worth it. I would like the world to know and experience Lexia Bee Naturals products. Our products are created to help nurture your skin while helping you to achieve healthy glowing skin.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I mostly hang out and do things with my children but knowing my best friend if she was visiting Atlanta, she would have a list of places for us to go and try. We’re the complete opposite and she is the one that is into a little bit of everything, so I would just be along for the ride. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my children because they definitely keep me wanting to be better and do better for them. My mom, my sisters and brother for their support. And, my customers for supporting my business, whether it is a shoutout on Instagram or a purchase, I appreciate all that you guys do.
