We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaison Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaison, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because from the age of 3, I was in the choir at my church all the way to the age of 11. In between the time I was in the choir, I developed a skill of making beats with music production with pencils and beating on walls, tables and it gained me a lot of popularity at my school and with others. Around the age of 6 is when I starting writing music and me and my cousin and brother would start rapping and I would be the one who made the beats and that’s when I knew I had a love for music and wanted to pursue an artistic and a creative career.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
How did I get here to where I am today professionally took a lot of hard work. I had to overcome obstacles to be the creative person I am with my craft, I’m a rapper, singer, songwriter, New Orleans bounce artist, A&R Scout & Upcoming Reality TV Star, party host, entertainer and also a businessman/entrepreneur so it takes a lot of strength, prayers and peace to be where I’m at now. It wasn’t easy because it would be days when I would just want to give up and quit but then I have people inbox me and tell me that they are playing my music in their city and that is what motivates me and pushes me harder to become the person I want the world to see one day. The lessons I’ve learned throughout this journey is to never accept defeat, also bounce back from your L’s because it’s only making you stronger at the end of the day. What I want the world to know about me is that I’m RAW, energetic, funny/goofy and all around the life of the party!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever I would say I’d take him/her to Port Of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago! We would stay at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad for a week with a decked out suite, balcony view with a jacuzzi, pool, spa and hot tub. The places we’d go for food are: Waterfront Restaurant, Buzo Italiana, Chaud’s Cafe and Wine Bar and El Pecos Grill. I’ve always seen on television of the Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago with the festive outfits and the non-stop partying! I would love to run into Dominique Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and a slew of other celebrities.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out God first, my parents, my family, my supporters and those who played my music from USA, Jamaica, United Kingdom. I would like to give a shout out to Ms. Sofia from VoyageATL and the ShoutOut Atlanta production for this opportunity.
