We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaira Patrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaira, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I contemplated this decision before breaking free from the corporate world. My life partner, who had been self-employed for years, served as an inspiring example of the challenges and rewards that come with entrepreneurship. While still working in banking, we initiated an online business selling women’s products, and the constant flow of order notifications was a tangible testament to our success. Despite the joy it brought, I hesitated to leave the security of a conventional job.
Then came a pivotal moment when I encountered “The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich.” This transformative read encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and give life another try. The book emphasized that entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone and wasn’t intended to coerce us into leaving what we believed in. Nevertheless, it provided the push I needed, and almost five years later, I have no regrets.
Admittedly, some days in the realm of self-employment can be stressful. Yet, whether self-employed or working in a corporate setting, doubt and stress are constant shadows. However, I’ve learned not to entertain these thoughts, allowing them to dissipate into thin air. While it’s natural to have such thoughts, we must control which ideas settle in our minds—those that propel us forward, those that pull us back, or those that keep us stagnant.
My partner and our son, now three years old, are profound influences on my choice to be self-employed. Ensuring their safety and securing our family’s well-being is my responsibility. Equally significant is my commitment to my own happiness. I believe that if I am content, I can contribute to the happiness of those around me. I won’t give up because I’ve come too far, learned too much, and refuse to settle for less.
Reading at least one book a month and incorporating positivity into my life through travel and interactions with strangers, uplifting their day with a simple smile or compliment, are integral to my self-improvement journey. Surrounding myself with positive energy is crucial, and by constantly striving for more, I aim not only to elevate my own life but also to uplift those around me. This is how I persevere, and this is how I continue to strive for more.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m Kaira, and design has been an integral part of my life’s narrative from the very beginning. With a natural inclination towards art since childhood, my family background has further nurtured this passion. Growing up amidst creativity, I have a sister who is a fashion designer, a father who excels in landscaping and architecture, and a mother who is equally adept in interior and fashion design.
Venturing into the design realm is not just a profession for me; it’s a way of life. In my spare time, I channel my creativity into designing homes, offering online interior design services that bring aesthetic joy to spaces.
I pursued my education at Temple University, where I double majored in Journalism and Advertising. College became a dynamic learning ground where I delved into various aspects of design, from editorial broadcasting and reporting to honing my skills in web design. Writing non-fiction stories, blogs, and short stories became a passion, and I discovered my love for editing content.
My design expertise spans across various facets, including SEO, social media marketing, brand book design, ebook/PDF workbook design, and logos. This multidimensional skill set allows me to provide comprehensive design solutions tailored to the unique needs of my clients.
Beyond the world of design, I find solace and inspiration in travel. Whether exploring my local surroundings, traversing the diverse landscapes of the United States, or venturing abroad, the world becomes my canvas. Even amidst my travels, I prioritize my commitment to client satisfaction. It’s not uncommon to find me opening my laptop during moments of exploration, ensuring that my clients, both new and existing, are always attended to with dedication and creativity.
My journey is a tapestry woven with threads of design, education, and a love for exploration. As I continue to evolve, my dedication to delivering exceptional design solutions and my passion for creating visually captivating spaces remain steadfast. Join me on this creative journey, where every project is an opportunity to transform imagination into reality.

Embracing the vibrant culinary scene in Atlanta is one of my favorite pastimes. Exploring Duluth for Asian cuisine is a delightful journey that often begins at Paris Baguette, where the fusion of flavors and the welcoming atmosphere create a perfect start. TukTuk Thai Food in the heart of Atlanta never fails to amaze me with its authentic Thai dishes, transporting me to the streets of Thailand with every bite.
For special occasions, like Valentine’s Day, Sri Thai Kitchen & Sushi Bar in Atlantic Station is a go-to destination. Its romantic ambiance and delectable offerings make it an ideal spot for celebrating love and indulging in exquisite Thai and sushi delights.
Another gem in my culinary escapades is Whealthy, a restaurant in Sandy Springs that never disappoints. Known for its wholesome and delicious options, it has become a regular spot for me. Excitingly, their expansion to Duluth brings the same culinary excellence closer to home.
As a devoted enthusiast of Asian cuisine, each dining experience in Atlanta is an exploration of diverse flavors, textures, and cultures. From the bustling streets of Duluth to the heart of Sandy Springs, my love for Asian culinary delights knows no bounds in this dynamic city.

In my journey towards self-employment, my life partner has been an invaluable influence, guiding me through the uncharted territory of entrepreneurship. His years of successful self-employment served as a living testament to the challenges and rewards that awaited. Together, we ventured into the world of online business, selling women’s products, and the constant influx of order notifications during my corporate stint became a tangible sign of our growing success. His unwavering belief in the entrepreneurial path was a beacon that gradually illuminated my own decision-making.
The turning point arrived when I stumbled upon Timothy Ferriss’ “The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich.” This transformative book became the catalyst that propelled me to step outside the confines of a traditional career and take life by the reins. Ferriss’ words resonated deeply, emphasizing that the entrepreneurial journey isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. It gave me the reassurance I needed to embrace a new way of living.
Another influential piece in my journey has been Jen Sincero’s “You Are a Badass.” This empowering book provided me with the mindset shift I needed to overcome self-doubt and fully embrace my worth. Sincero’s words were a source of motivation, pushing me to break through limiting beliefs and pursue a life aligned with my desires.
My partner’s steadfast support, combined with the wisdom imparted by Ferriss and Sincero, formed a powerful trio of influences that guided me to make significant life decisions. Today, almost five years into this journey, I look back with gratitude for their impact on my path to self-discovery and fulfillment. The blend of practical experience, motivational literature, and unwavering support has shaped not only my career choices but also my outlook on life and the pursuit of happiness.
