We had the good fortune of connecting with Kailey Bunch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kailey, how do you define success?
I define success by what personally makes me happy in my own life. Not everyone’s idea of success is going to be the same. For some people its making tons of money and for others its something as simple as keeping their house clean every day. For me personally, I find success in how my children see me. If they have everything they need and they are demonstrating love and kindness then I feel like I have done my job in life. From a photography standpoint, I often feel success in making my clients truly happy. You can ask any of my clients if I am not happy with their gallery, then I will reshoot it a hundred times until I get what that family truly deserves in a gallery. Fulfilling my clients needs and capturing those special moments for the rest of their lives truly makes me successful.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a family and lifestyle photographer based out of Winder, GA. I feel like the experience I offer families and clients sets me apart from other photographers. I will go above and beyond what I am called to do in order to make a client happy. I am a very faith based individual as well and I put the sole trust of my business in God. Before every wedding I shoot, I pray for God’s blessing on the couple as they embark on their new journey together as husband and wife, and before every session I shoot I pray for God’s guidance on how to capture a particular family to best suit their life. My journey as a photographer has not always been the easiest for sure. I originally started photography in 2015 and my work was no where near what I wanted it to be. I had the mindset that if I just picked up camera that I could make it do anything I want, but I had no formal training as to what I was doing. After several years and mentorships, I finally learned there’s so much more to photography than just clicking a button. I have had to learn the hard way that not everyone is in the best interest of your business and some people will try to ruin everything that you have built for their own reasons.
I would love for everyone to know that when you book with Kailey Bunch Photography, you are not just booking another photographer. You are booking someone’s mom, wife, cousin, niece, or granddaughter. I am only human and that’s all I expect my clients to be. We are not striving for perfect photos, we are striving for real life photos.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I grew up in a little town called Loganville, so my idea of a good place to hang out might be quite different than others! If someone was visiting Winder, I would for sure take them to my favorite Mexican Restaurant which is El Real in Bethlehem. I would also probably show them around to some of my favorite places to shoot at which is Prospect Farms, Little Mulberry Park, Downtown Monroe, and Arabia Mountain.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out my husband, Randy. Through every obstacle, every busy weekend full of sessions, and every late night editing, he never fails to have my back. He is always so helpful in making sure our family is taken care of so I can pursue my dreams of being an entrepreneur. Without him my business would not be possible, and I thank him with all of my heart.
