Meet Kachiuna Hughes | Entrepreneur & International Flight Attendant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kachiuna Hughes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kachiuna, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I have been at this place regarding my business and career choices at times; it is never an easy decision when I have so many things working against me but I always choose to keep going because giving up is not something I can accept from myself. It is better to try and fail, rather than try and give up or not even attempt to try at all. My victory is secure, if I stay in the race!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is a nonprofit organization and I started it because I wanted to see a change while also being proactive.
I believe what sets me apart from others is I’m not just sitting around talking about what I want to do/what should be done; I’m doing it. Im most excited about seeing where my business will be in the years to come; also seeing the difference/impact it will have on so many individuals.
I’ve gotten to where I am today by sharing my dream with my family and everyone was so willing to help and donate to my business; I realized helping one person and seeing them pay it forward, creates a domino effect! It was not easy but it was so worth it!! I overcame my challenges by praying, telling God exactly what I wanted to do with my business and the plans I have for expansion. I wrote down every pro and con in my journal; there were not enough cons to stop me so I knew this was for me.
I’ve learned not to compare what I’m doing to what someone else is doing, even if we’re offering the same services. Comparison is the thief of joy. I also learned that no matter how “no’s” I hear to keep going because a “yes” is sure to come!
I want the world to know it costs nothing to help someone. It doesn’t always have to monetarily. A kind word, smile, hug, etc can go a long way! I do this because I absolutely love to help others and Kachi Kares is going to be a household name. So be on the lookout!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
