We had the good fortune of connecting with KaceyTheSongbird and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KaceyTheSongbird, why did you pursue a creative career?
The main reason I decided to pursue an artistic/creative career is based on the fact that this is my calling and even though I have worked other jobs, pursuing an artistic career feels natural to the alignment of my soul. I am grateful for all past experiences because you’re able to see and know what you don’t want so that you can go forward with courage to go after what you want. I am constantly thinking of a lyric to a song, always singing or humming a new song, hot song or old song. Creating art is inspiring to the masses who may only be able to express themselves through a sound or a song. To be in a position to express your talent can cure generations for the collective community beyond infinity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Singer/Songwriter & Entrepreneur born and raised in Detroit “Motown” Michigan. I grew up singing in the choir at my Catholic School and decided after high school to actively get involved in the arts. I have been casted in a few plays, sang the national anthem at a Lakers Game, Guest Invitation on podcasts, nominated for the Verge Award & Best New Artist from the BMAs, and been a featured vocal guest on many local Artist Albums. What sets me apart is that I love performing Jazz & R&B Songs with a live band and I love connecting with my audience. I am super excited that I am releasing music very soon. I am also proud of myself by not giving up because it is not easy to trust SELF and design your own path. I am overcoming challenges by forging relationships with other Entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses and I am reminded that I am not alone on this journey, there is literally a WHOLE village with open arms to guide my every step. An important lesson I have learned along the way is to open up and share my trials and tribulations with like – minded individuals who can really assist in helping you problem solve. As the famous quote says ” Many hands make light work” the tasks will definitely become smaller when divided among several people. I am also excited to create more content and tell short stories with music releases and artist collaborations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my daytime favorite spots to have breakfast/lunch is Breakfast at Barneys. The food is very yummy, superb customer service, chic decor, amazing cocktails and cool people.

I also enjoy having breakfast at Arize Breakfast Cafe in East Point… The breakfast choices and selections are delicious, family oriented and what’s unique is that they sell juices and teas from several small, independent and local vendors.

For lunch and dinner I would suggest the true classic Steamhouse Lounge… very consistent when it comes to seafood, the drinks and the best lobster bisque ever.

When I need to grab my organic soaps and tinctures I usually go to Sevananda Natural Foods Market and then shop in Little Five Points for unique items.

I love the vibes at Esco Restaurant & Tapas for drinks and food for a dinner flow and then on to the Garden Room for cocktails in a whimsical garden bar. For the night flow I am feeling Red Martini, Dancin’ Crepe for Entertainment, City Winery for the live music and either going to the Blue Flame or any loud bar in midtown with a dope DJ and good drinks.

Some interesting places to visit in Atlanta is the Martin Luther King Center, HBCU Tour, The Alice in Wonderland Exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, The Trap Museum, Georgia Aquarium, driving by Tyler Perry Studios, Jeju Saunas, Hiking at Stone Mountain, I am feeling the thrift stores in Dekalb County.

The vibes and people in Atlanta are unmatched, chic, urban and purely magical!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I have so many Shout Outs for the many beautiful people who have instilled in me wisdom, time, tradition, currency, wardrobe goodies, cosmetic goodies, plane tickets, home-cooked meals made with love, warm couches and studio time.
I am grateful for my Artist/Musician  friends who allow me the opportunity and experience to sing background vocals, collaborations, showcases, albums, singles, supporting each other’s independent endeavors.
I am also grateful for my Styling Team who is able to assist on short notice. What I also appreciate is having other yet necessary team members who can help bring your vision to life. Amongst Stylists I have also been blessed to have creative assistance with My Logo Designer Artist, Photographers, Videographers, Financial Advisors, Legal Advisors, Hair Stylists, Nail Techs, Make-Up Artists, Caterers and Front Door Host/ Greet Staff when you do your own shows.
I am so thankful for my Parents, My Sisters, Cousins, Aunts & Uncles, Friends, Co-Workers who have become like family and many other cousins who have offered advice, tissues for my issues, and constant support on this Musical Journey.
