We had the good fortune of connecting with $K and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi $K, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency. I’m consistent with making sure I collaborate with others, studying music theory & I’m consistent at being a fair guy when it comes to handling business with others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my unselfishness. I don’t care how many people it takes to get the job done, as long as we have A+ quality results, i have no issues. I’m excited about 2022. I’m in a great space, musically. It’s so many talented new artists out here in Atlanta.

It wasn’t easy at all to get where i’m at but my faith in God & Myself has brought me thru those difficult times. I attribute that to my upbringing in church.

I learned that you have to do your best to limit distractions in your life. It’s life. We all get them everyday but when you can center in and focus on self, remarkable things can happen.

I want the world to know that I’ve been in this game 13 years. My first hit was neighbors know my name by trey songz. I was a young 18 year old and I’m blessed to still be able to remain relevant in the music industry throughout these years. The best is yet to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First Place I would take them to is Nova Sushi in Buckhead. Some of the best hibachi food ever. I’ve been a fan of them since they’re opening. I’m pretty much a regular there. I would also take my best friend to Magic City. The vibe is great there & I love the food. Magic City is ATL Culture so they need to experience that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s 4 people that i can attribute my success to.

#1, My Grandmother. Without her having that old piano in her house, I’m not sure if i would’ve found my passion in music. I started playing that piano when i was a little boy & I moved over to play piano in church.

#2, My Mother. She’s always supported my dreams. She’s never doubted my talent. She bought me my first keyboard & music software program.

#3, My Mentor, Troy Taylor. Troy discovered me on Myspace in 2007. His mentorship led to us co-producing hit records for Trey Songz & many others.

#4, My Managers, Malita The Mogul & Sammye Scott. I’ve been knowing these ladies for almost a decade now and we just started working together around 2 years ago. Since then, I’ve gotten top 5 records, more plaques & signed a new deal with Kobalt Music.

Shoutout to them!
