We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin & MaHogany Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin & MaHogany, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has played a major role in the success of our career thus far. In life, in order to standout and be different you have to do something that has never been done before, like taking different risks. If you want to capture your audience you have to come with different strategies and step outside the box. Some people can in fact not take risks and still be successful, and don’t get us wrong, sometimes in taking risks you do fail, yet it’s necessary. In the bible Peter takes a risk. He could have stayed in the boat but he choses to get out on the water. He asks the Lord, “If that’s You, allow me to come on to the water” but to be honest before he asked the Lord he had to look within himself and know taking this step of faith with God, would require Him to take a risk. I think when Peter took that step on the water, he didn’t know what would happen next, and that’s just like in business. When you take a risk and get out of the boat, by doing something you’ve never done before, you don’t know if you will fall, sink, or fail. However, you will never know unless you take the risk. Being a YouTuber, taking risks has played a big role because we have had to try things that were different from other channels. Also having a background in church and ministry, stepping out into the industry with our type of content has been a big change for us. We didn’t know what reaction to expect from our community of supporters, but taking the risk ended up working for us. Also, in being creative with our branding and the set up of our channel, we took risks that could have easily backfired but it ended up working out in our favor. We are so glad that we took these risks because if we didn’t we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Alright, so let’s move onto what makes you stand out professionally?
What has set us apart as YouTubers and who we are is that we have a family with two sets of twins. We are proud and excited that we have been able to grow our social media platforms and connect with people from all over the world by sharing our story. How we got where we are today has not been because of luck but due to consistency and hard work even when challenges presented themselves it never discouraged us to quit. We’ve overcome challenges by keeping our focus on the main goal. The most important lesson we’ve learned is that no matter what challenge presents itself we have to keep going. At the end of the day, we want the world to know that The Jacksons of Atlanta is made of two sets of twins, one amazing mom, and one crazy dad but there’s so much more that God has called us to do. We are more than Youtubers, parents, video creators, and serial entrepreneurs. God has instilled so much more inside of us and we can’t wait for God to bring it all to pass.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would tell them to check out these delicious restaurants, Toast on the Lennox, Peach Cobbler Café’ and Steak Market. For some fun and excitement we would suggest Six Flags, The Botanical Garden, and Skyview Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to shout out our mentors, teachers, supporters and most importantly, God, for helping us get this far.
