We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Hunt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Creating my own lane is what my life is about. I believe in honest self expression as the basis of life. What are my gifts, talents and heart to share and serve the world around me. It is challenging when you have responsibilities and have to “make a living.” Through my hustle doors began to open. Through self discovery the universe opens up even more. I believe it has pushed me to walk the path of truly finding self. It has not been an easy journey at all because I am creating something one of a kind. That drives me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I chose artist/creative because of how I view movement and overall wellness. It will be different for everyone. I am a wellness coach that trains people in gyms, virtually, outside or in the comfort of their homes as many others do. I like the world of fitness/movement. There are so many ways to enjoy physical activities. Over time my training philosophies and methods have changed. I like to merge various styles, modalities and methods. It keeps things fresh, fun, constant learning and evolving. This was rooted from my own exploration from body building, Crossfit, functional training, animal and yogi flows. Movement for me began with basketball and martial arts. I’ve learned to stay true to what comes to me. Combining what I’ve learned through various certifications and internships with my gifts. I would like the world to understand I am just motivating and inspiring others to find their wellness of the mind, body and spirit. All three should be strong and balanced.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I get out but not often. I live outside the perimeter of Atlanta but I enjoy many things Atlanta has to offer. To name a few things I like to see art and art performed. Whether in museums or on the street. So walks in various areas of Atlanta like Little 5 points and visiting the High Art Museum. A spot in the city, Apache Xlr has nights for various artist to perform. I also love my black culture so if there is a conference or event I would attend. Eat at Tassilis, go to Wadada and go to the Black Wall Street market. I love football and basketball as well so a Hawks or Falcons game for sure. Many places to eat, hang out and chill. On top of all this there is plenty of nature in Georgia. I am near Kennesaw Mountain and there are many hiking trails within driving distance. There are various gyms of all types to go and train.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shout out my family my tribe, my parents Chris and Cynthia. My children Kobee, Chyra, Kanan and their mother Heather. My Queen Olivia and her daughter Violet. Last and certainly not least my grandchildren Drayden and Alayiah. I also say thank you to many others from various stops along the way that gave me a nudge, helped me get in position and shared knowledge for my growth. Too many to name so I named my family because they give me strength to press on.
