Hi JUNE, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My journey toward starting my own business was driven by a deep sense of purpose and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. As an HR professional working in the healthcare sector, I had the unique opportunity to visit various hospital floors and interact with patients on a daily basis. During these visits, I was struck by the number of senior patients who spent long hours and days alone, often without any visitors to provide companionship. It was heartbreaking to witness how isolating and lonely it must be for these individuals during such a vulnerable time in their lives.
This experience sparked a thought that led to an epiphany: what if there was a way to provide dedicated, compassionate companionship and care to these seniors, ensuring they didn’t feel forgotten or neglected? With my passion for helping others and my commitment to service, I realized that this was an unexpected but powerful calling. I saw an opportunity to give back to a community that had already given so much, especially to those who had no one to care for them during their final years.
That realization led to the creation of Senior Helpers NW Atlanta, a senior care agency where we focus on providing exceptional, personalized care. Our mission is to help seniors age in place with dignity and respect by hand-selecting compassionate caregivers who are not only skilled but also deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. I’m proud of the work we do, and it’s a journey that’s been as fulfilling as it has been meaningful.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What truly sets Senior Helpers NW Atlanta apart is my unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people we serve. I’m not just offering a service; I’m providing a lifeline for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities who need the support of compassionate caregivers. My deep passion for supporting these communities has been a driving force behind our work, and I am personally invested in ensuring that each of our clients receives the care and attention they deserve.
I believe that by prioritizing the emotional and physical well-being of our clients, and by offering a team of carefully selected, skilled caregivers who embody integrity and compassion, we can make a real difference in their lives. We approach each case with the utmost professionalism, treating every client with respect and empathy, ensuring their dignity is maintained at all times.

I’m incredibly proud of the strides we’ve made in a business that is inherently challenging. Starting a company from the ground up is never easy, but I’ve remained driven because I understand the critical need for the services we offer. Every day, I see the positive impact we’re making on the lives of our clients and their families, and that keeps me motivated to push forward, no matter the obstacles. The fact that we’re creating a meaningful, lasting difference in people’s lives is something I take great pride in.

The path to where I am today was not easy, but I’ve always believed that if something is worth doing, it won’t be easy. Building a business, especially a service-oriented one, takes time, dedication, and a willingness to overcome setbacks. There were moments of doubt, but I knew from the start that I was doing something that mattered. Every challenge became an opportunity to learn and grow, whether it was refining our services or strengthening our approach to client care. The key has been persistence, discipline, and most importantly, faith. Faith in the mission, faith in the team, and faith that the hard work would eventually pay off.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite spots in Atlanta is the Silver Comet Trail. Though I don’t visit as often as I would like, it’s a beautiful, expansive trail that runs through Georgia and offers a serene escape for bikers, runners, and those who simply want to enjoy the outdoors. It’s a peaceful destination that’s great for families or anyone looking to unwind in nature.

If I had a week to show my friends the best of Atlanta, I’d start with a visit to Ponce City Market, a historical site that combines shopping, dining, and entertainment. The vibrant atmosphere there is perfect for exploring local boutiques and enjoying delicious food. Afterward, we’d head over to Piedmont Park for a relaxing afternoon, taking in the views of the Atlanta skyline while enjoying a leisurely walk or a picnic. There’s so much to do in this city, but these two spots always stand out as must-visit locations.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As a spiritual person, I always start by crediting God, who is the guiding force in my life and the foundation of every decision I make. His guidance has been unwavering, and I believe it’s His strength that sustains me. Additionally, I owe an immense amount of gratitude to my husband and six children, whose constant support and encouragement have been crucial to my success. They inspire me daily and fuel my determination to continue pursuing my mission, even during the most challenging times.
