We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Demenkow and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, when I joined the alternate medicine/ therapy world, I was focused on finding ways to heal myself. I was already interested in wellness and tried alternative modalities such as acupuncture and hypnotherapy for my own health. Reiki came into my life while I was working as an Occupational therapy assistant, I came upon an occupational therapist that was offering continuing education units. Reiki is a Japanese healing technique where the practitioner uses its connection to the universal energy, by being a channel to that energy. The technique requires the practitioner to place their hands over or on the seven main chakras of the energetical body to balance it. It is such a wonderful tool to use. It helped me with panic attacks, anxiety and depression. After seeing the incredible results on myself, I wanted to offer it to others. My mentors were instrumental in guiding me to find the courage to start my own business. That was the thought process beyond me. Since then, I continued to grow by learning new modalities to help others. One of them is Eden Energy Medicine, it is based on different system of alternative healing techniques from the world such as ancient Chinese medicine. Among those systems I track the meridians or Nadis ( known if the yogic world) which are channels of energies across the energetic body by using applied kinesiology. I select a treatment that is adequate to the person’s need and undertake to balance the meridians, the chakras, and strengthen the aura. The sessions can include a revitalizing Electric which is a treatment around a set of points at the base of the spine that are connected with the electric system of the body; it helps with pain, disorientation, hormone imbalance.I offer a treatment to help with deep stress where I use light pressure on neurovascular points on the scalp and the face.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I graduated as an Occupational therapy assistant in 2020, after working in the field for a year I knew I love helping others but something was missing. The decision to start this career is a passionate choice, I fell in love with all these modalities. The connectivity I found in this community is empowering. My job is to help people relax and heal. I use healing modalities to balance people ‘s energies. Stress is a factor in our daily life that is necessary in some ways but that affect our natural healing abilities. Finding the time to care for our health is very important. During my training , I learned many techniques that are beneficial to find that equilibrium. I am recently training to add yoga as one of my skills to help others. It is another wonderful tool to balance and ground your energy
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to the botanical garden, it is beautiful every season. I would recommend to go hiking at the Chattahoochee riverside. There are some beautiful hikes along the river by east and west palisade. People shoot the hooch in the nicer weather season. For a fun time in the city,I would go by the studio plex in midtown where the belt line is closed by , you can walk and stop by great restaurants or go to Krog market.”
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
