Meet Juice + Self | Creative Entrepreneurs & Mindset Coaches

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juice + Self and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juice + Self, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
It’s hard to name just one, but if we had to choose, it would be how deep a creative’s mental health is tied to their output and the longevity of their career. Most people assume creativity just “flows,” but the truth is, emotional regulation, support systems, and mental clarity are the foundation to the level of success an artist reaches. Honorable mention? The fact that one song can generate over 20 different revenue streams, but only if the artist has properly organized and ingested their metadata into the platforms that need to compute it. Most artists miss out on income simply because the back-end isn’t right.

What should our readers know about your business?
So, a little more about our business. At the core, we’re music executives who focus on the independent sector of the industry, because that’s where we built our success. Most of what we’ve accomplished was done without corporate backing, unless a check was involved. Our journey has been about building without compromise. Through our coaching company, Ceo Self Coaching, we provide mindset development and career guidance for independent creatives. Around here, we live by: “Mindset first. Career second.” Our label and publishing company, Reign Forever Music Group and Reign Forever Group Music Publishing, develop artists, protect intellectual property, and pitch catalogs for licensing. Those are the basics. But our real mission is deeper: we empower creatives to become owners of their own careers. To be independent, but independent with us. If you know, you know. Watch Light Pathways, our newest venture, marks our shift from music business to human business. It’s our response to the deeper needs behind the art. We offer peer support for creatives navigating substance use and provide workforce development tools to help them build sustainable lives, not just careers. What we’re most proud of? That we earned every accolade we’ve received without compromising who we are. It’s not easy to be nominated for a Grammy, receive a SESAC Pop Award, or earn multiple RIAA certifications, all independently. But by God’s grace, we’ve done that. We’ve also made a conscious choice not to let those accomplishments become our identity. The mission remains: care for people like us. For couples doing business together. For families who are still dreaming big inside an industry that often overlooks them. We got here by trusting our Creator, staying committed to our purpose, and doing the work, especially when it was hard. We’re celebrating 20 years of marriage, and let’s be real, being married and building in this industry isn’t easy. When it got dark for us, it got really dark. But those seasons tested and fortified our love, and our business too. When the decision is made, it’s made. If you’re serious about your dreams, you won’t give up for anything. If you’re doing it with someone, stay together. If you’re doing it alone, find guidance. We want to be what we so desperately needed: someone who’s been through it and found a way out. We take care of the human on the journey more than we chase the product. You’re not just a number in our program. You’re a story, a legacy, and a light.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If our best friend was visiting, we’d start the trip with the most important thing, food! First stop: Breakfast at Barney’s for a legendary morning start. For lunch, we’re heading to Las Brasas in Decatur for some unforgettable Peruvian flavor. Dinner? That’s happening in the studio, because there’s nothing like working on a song, vibing, and eating takeout between takes. We’d repeat that rhythm but throw in some gems: brunch at High Noon in Douglasville, dinner at Blue Rose Bistro, then back to a late-night session that feels like both therapy and creation. Midweek, we’d take a walk through the trail at Sweetwater Creek State Park, clear our heads, talk about life, and recharge our spirits with some nature and peace. On Sunday, we’re pulling up to Mountain West Church to sit under Pastor Mo Huggins, because nothing centers the week like a solid word and some time in worship. We’d hit some nightlife too, Edgewood, Parlor, or a private event if something good is moving. Honestly, we might rent an Airbnb guest house in the city just to set the vibe right and feel inspired by new scenery. The whole week would rotate like that. Good food, good music, God’s presence, and a whole lot of intentional fun. That’s how we do it.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to dedicate this shoutout to our kids, Don, Jay, Rick, and AP. Y’all are our daily motivation and constant reminder of what legacy really means. To our village of family and friends, it’s a small circle, but it’s solid. You know who you are. Your support has carried us through seasons where grit wasn’t enough. To the artists signed to our label, Reign Forever Music Group… to the writers and producers under our publishing company. We wouldn’t be Grammy nominated without ya’ll… to the board members of our nonprofit who champion creatives navigating substance use recovery and workforce development, this is our community. These are the people who push us, believe with us, and build beside us. They are the building blocks. And above all, we shout out the teachings of Jesus Christ, which ground us and guide us. This love, this village, this faith? That’s what pushed us off the porch. Thank you.
