We had the good fortune of connecting with Joyce White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joyce, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was to stop self sabotaging myself with negative thoughts and to start visualizing and manifesting how I wanted my business to flourish.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that I genuinely want to see people happy and living their best lives.

I am most proud of being a mentor to young girls and helping people forget their troubles while performing on stage or on the big screen.

To get to where I am professionally wasn’t easy. I did everything I could to stay involved with acting. I took acting classes, bought books, attended workshops, participated in student films, and performed on stage.

I overcame the challenges by pushing myself and staying focused because I knew that I was born to be an entertainer and being on stage makes me come alive.

The lessons I have learned is that you can be whoever you want to be. Just gather your thoughts, decide your destiny, and don’t let anyone including yourself stop you.

I want the world to know that everything I have gone through was necessary for me to be able to bring authenticity as an actor and to help others who may have gone through the same challenges.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would go to Grant Park, Oakland Cemetery, Martin Luther King Jr National Historical Park, Black Wall Street Market, and National Museum of African American History and Culture. For dining we would venture down to Auburn Avenue to Sweet Georgias Juke Joint.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give recognition to my radio mentor Klarque Garrison. He helped me to fulfill my purpose of empowering, motivating, and educating the world through the changing times we are living in, by giving me a platform on his radio station. The Survival Radio Christian Network.
