We had the good fortune of connecting with Joy Wyatt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always thought there is more growth in owning a business. I felt like I was stuck in one position so I made a change and started Your Joyful Property Group, which is affiliated with Village Premier Collection in Georgia and Golden Estates Realty in Florida . I just wanted more control of my career professionally and financially.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
One aspect that sets me apart from others is I don’t set limits. I work hard & try every angle before giving up. I truly stand on “What God has for you is for you.” I am most proud of my growth & confidence that I now have as a realtor. I am excited to be licensed in two states, soon to be a third. There were a lot of ups and downs to get where I am today. I struggled with if I was good enough or not. After I changed my surroundings & people who were around me, I began to flourish. I had to pray more, worry less. I realized being open and willing to learn something new was a major part of success in the business, along with a strong hustle, work ethic and communication. As a realtor, I never give up. I work extremely hard for my clients through & through. I am understanding & passionate about my role & career.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my recent days, I am more of a homebody lol. But here are some of my favorite hangouts: Sauce, Traffik (Thursdays), Steamhouse Lounge, Spondivits, Aura Lounge, Plated Lounge, Blu Cantina, Baltimore Seafood, anywhere on the Beltline, Breakfast @ Barney’s, Escobar, & Esco Seafood. We would have to visit Atlantic Station. Also, the High Museum of Art

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my daughter, nieces and nephews. If it wasn’t for them looking up to me, I probably wouldn’t be where I am. They push me to be a better person for them. They are my daily motivation and I thank God for them.
