We had the good fortune of connecting with Josie Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Back To You experience is unique because it allows our guests to step outside of their medical treatment for a salon beauty experience and for professional guidance in alternative hair. We treat every client as a person, not a patient. We understand what they are going through and stand ready to serve them, their friends, family, and our community. Our certified licensed professional hairdressers are trained to ease the transition before, during and after hair loss, so the person never misses a beat.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Styling a woman’s hair to help them feel empowered & beautiful is an Art. We are bridging the gap between beauty and medicine. We see more salons joining our team and our cause. Our team of educators believe they are not teaching a class, they are creating a movement – the #B2Ymovement. We believe in providing the best salon experience for the guests with alternative hair needs.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Thankfully my family visited last Christmas before Covid-19 and I was able to show them all of my favorite places. We saw the Garden Holiday Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, went to a show at the Fox, and walked around the Shops of Buckhead and downtown Roswell. Our Favorite Restaurants are Nuevo Laredo Cantina for the best Mexican! Best Italian is at a family owned Almalfi Restaurant in Roswell! Yum! For Mediterranean we go to Zaffron or Rumi’s in Sandy Springs. To walk off the great food we went to the Chattahoochee River Park which is beautiful anytime of year.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My partners, David Green & Harry Wood, our trainers & stylists have been impacted by medically related hair loss, whether personally, through a family member or close friend, or through longtime clients. We were inspired by our collective experiences to find a better alternative for the people in our lives and the people in the communities where we live and work.
