We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, what is the most important factor behind your success?
An important factor behind my success is that I’m always trying to improve. I think about it as I want the next project to be better than last one. For this example it would be outfits. I’m always looking to improve from the last fit I post, from the last person I styled. I’m never satisfied staying at the same place, I always want to be moving forward. One way I stayed inspired is by using Pinterest. I have so many Pinterest boards saved with upcoming ideas and photoshoots. I love to pull inspiration from anything and everything, whether that is old runway shows, movies, streetwear, and even women’s fashion. I also have friends like Noah, and Will that have helped me along the way. That constant strive for improve helps me surpass my limits.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The way I dress is my art it is a representation of different version of my self from each look, to outfit. What truly sets me apart from others is I don’t trend hop or let societal norms hold me back from wearing whatever I want. I have come a long way from my first photoshoot, where I didn’t really know how to pose or comfortable in front of the camera. Or my first runway show where I didn’t how to walk and pose correctly with confidence. I’m still growing, and while I’m not yet where I want to be, I know this is just the beginning. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that people’s opinions don’t matter in the bigger picture. You shouldn’t let some random persons opinion affect what you want to do in life or what you want to wear. I’ve spent the last couple years learning and experimenting with my style and learning to ignore self-doubt. As Frank Ocean said “Be yourself, be secure with yourself.” That’s the mindset I carry with everything I do, because staying true to myself is a lot easier than trying to be someone else.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming down for a week we would have to go around the city to thrift. Then the next day we would go paddle boarding or kayaking. Later in the week we would go to Roswell Mills or hike a mountain to watch the sunset. Anyone that truly knows me knows I have a lot of food allergies so I don’t really go out to eat, so my best friend on his their own for that but I’ll probably tag along though. I’ll maybe get a blueberry acai vitamin water along the way. Ohh we gotta go to the gym at least 4 days out of the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my friend Noah for helping me start my journey. And would also like to give a shoutout to “thecreatorwill” for continuing to help me move forward in both my life and modeling. Whether that is giving each ideas for different concepts or we playing 8ball til 4am talking about personal issues. Will has helped me continue to improve with my modeling/creative career.
