Hi Joshua, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The motivation to launch my own business was deeply rooted in the joy I observed in individuals when they viewed their in-game photos. It was remarkable to see how something as simple as a digital snapshot could evoke such happiness and spark memories of shared experiences. This realization made me recognize the potential for creating a service that enhances these visual moments.
Additionally, I noted a rising appreciation for high-quality edited portraits among gamers and digital content creators. Many individuals seek out visually appealing representations of their online personas, and I saw an opportunity to fill that niche by providing exceptional editing services. My goal is to offer a service that not only meets the needs of clients but also elevates their expectations through creativity and attention to detail.
In building this business, I aim to create memorable keepsakes that resonate with my clients long after they’ve logged off. Each edited photo is crafted with care, capturing the essence of the moments they want to preserve. By focusing on quality and a personalized approach, I strive to ensure that every client feels valued and connected to their unique gaming experiences.

The process started on a small scale, with me taking pictures for friends and family. Each time I received positive feedback, I felt more motivated to refine my skills and expand my knowledge.
To lay a strong foundation, I invested time in learning about photography techniques, equipment, and editing software. I enrolled in online courses and participated in workshops to understand the different aspects of photography, from composition to lighting. I also immersed myself in the community, attending local photography meetups and collaborating with other photographers. Networking proved essential, as it opened doors to new opportunities and insights.
Next, I began building my portfolio. I offered free or discounted sessions to friends and local businesses in exchange for testimonials and permission to showcase their images. This not only helped me gain practical experience but also allowed me to develop a unique style that reflected my vision.
Once my portfolio was in place, I created a professional online presence, including a website and social media profiles. Marketing became a crucial focus; I leveraged social media platforms to reach potential clients, sharing my work and engaging with the community.
The journey has required dedication, patience, and a willingness to learn. Today, I’m proud to run a photography business that captures cherished moments while continuing to grow and adapt within this dynamic industry.

I began my photography journey during the COVID-19 lockdown, a time when many people were searching for ways to cope with life at home. Initially, I would venture out into my neighborhood, capturing lifestyle shots that reflected the world around me. While this experience was rewarding, it was also quite challenging. I often felt as though I was falling behind others or not measuring up to my own expectations.
Fortunately, my passion for photography led to an incredible opportunity; I landed a position in sports photography at my former college. Suddenly, I found myself part of a community that was eager to know where I was and if I would be at upcoming games or media events. This sense of belonging and recognition helped boost my confidence and reaffirmed my commitment to my craft.
Through this journey, I learned an important lesson about the value of consistency and hard work. There were moments of doubt when I questioned when my efforts would pay off, but I held on to the belief that my time would come. I want to encourage anyone contemplating starting their own business to take that leap of faith and not look back. There were many nights when I prayed and asked God, “When will it be my time?” Remember, if you have a talent, nurture it and trust the process, because every step you take is bringing you closer to your goals.I began my photography journey when the world shut down due to COVID-19. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is a vibrant city full of energy and new experiences, making it difficult to pinpoint just one specific location that stands out above the rest. One of the best ways to immerse yourself in the culture of Atlanta is through its diverse dining scene. I recommend starting your culinary journey at The Varsity, an iconic fast-food restaurant known for its classic American fare and a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the city. There’s something special about savoring a chili dog or onion rings there, while soaking in the lively atmosphere.
After that, if you’re still hungry, head over to my favorite restaurant, Maggiano’s. Known for its delicious Italian dishes and warm ambiance, Maggiano’s is a fantastic place to enjoy a family-style meal or indulge in traditional pasta dishes. The combination of great food and inviting decor makes it an ideal choice for a special evening out.
While I don’t go out much, my home is often my favorite retreat. However, when I do venture out, the Benz Stadium is always a thrilling destination. Whether it’s catching an exciting sporting event or enjoying a concert, the stadium provides a wonderful venue for entertainment and an energetic atmosphere. Overall, Atlanta has something for everyone, whether you’re a foodie, a sports fan, or just looking for a place to enjoy some good times with friends and family.

I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to my family and friends for their unwavering support throughout my journey. Whenever I’ve faced challenges or felt overwhelmed, I could always count on them to lift my spirits and remind me of my potential.
My family has been my greatest source of strength. They have believed in me during times when I doubted myself and have celebrated my achievements, no matter how small. Their love and understanding have been a constant reminder of the importance of perseverance and hard work. They have provided me with a safe space to express my thoughts and frustrations, allowing me to navigate the ups and downs of my endeavors with a sense of belonging.
Similarly, my friends have been my cheerleaders, offering both practical assistance and emotional support when I needed it the most. They have stood by me through late nights of hard work, celebrated my successes, and offered a listening ear during tough times. The bonds we’ve formed have enriched my life in countless ways.
In a world that can often feel chaotic, the reassurance from my loved ones has kept me grounded and focused on my goals. I genuinely believe that this support system has not only propelled me forward but has also made the journey itself more meaningful. I am incredibly thankful to have such amazing people in my life who have continuously encouraged me to strive for greatness.
