We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Mouzon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua, what do you attribute your success to?
God without him I wouldn’t be where I am today. Next is people In order for me to create a plate for a person I need people to share something they are passionate about or something that has meaning to them so their plate is something special to them or whoever they gift it to. For example there’s millions of johns out in the world but what makes you different from all of them. Why are you one of one and that helps me to create custom name plates for that person with something to symbolize it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a welder who found this business through my career. While I’m school we had opportunities to work on side projects anything pertaining to welding and I made a gift for my pops in dedication of my moms passing from cancer. Based off how much he loved that gift I decided to make it a business and want others to feel that same joy when I create plates for them. I still have a day time job as a welder and work on this part time until my business takes off and I’m able to just work on my passion full time
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A good hangout spot I would take somebody is skyline park on top of ponce city market or this sports bar I go to a lot called Mazzy’s
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God is number one I’m my life and I wouldn’t have come up with the idea for my business without God. The second is support from my family motivating me to keep going even when things aren’t going how you planned. Having those two things in my life really keep me going.
