We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Rhye and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josh, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is a part of our everyday life. In starting 333 Ministries, it was a huge risk. A big step of faith. The result of that risks are now 9 years of so many stories and life change that we have seen through that one risk. Of course now there is more to loose but we must keep stepping and taking those risks. I’ve learned that it’s not a loss or a failure if the risk you take doesn’t play out the way you think it should. It’s a lesson you learn and there was a purpose in it. Thousands of people have been impacted by the risks we have taken. So we say – GO FOR IT!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As preacher’s kids my wife and I grew up in church and religion on a daily, now as Ministries Leaders we have learned it is not not about preaching at people but walking with them through their deepest struggles. The street is where is starts. We lead a ministry called 333 Ministries, Inc. and started a church named, ThreeLife Church in Lagrange, GA. in 2013. A place full of amazing people from all walks of life. A place where everyone is welcome. We know that that is said more than not, but we truly believe it. No matter your race, sexual orientation, and preferences, you belong here. Through suicide, addictions and cancer, life has been a constant classroom. With my wife’s battle with leukemia as a child and also my fathers journey with cancer, we founded an organization called, HOPExo in 2017. An organization that spread hope to people that need it. After losing my brother to suicide and my sister to cancer, we have learned not every story has a happy ending and their life may be over but their story lives on through us. Everyone needs hope and if you’re still breathing there is hope for you.
It’s simple, We just love people. Whether that be speaking at ThreeLife Church, or motivation a group of business men at the Kia of LaGrange, or a funeral on a Thursday, the key is people. Don’t look for a stage, look for a messy situation and help love someone through it. What sets us apart is a good question. I’m not doing it for social media likes or followers. We just want to make a difference. We don’t see people as problems we see the potential in them and it’s our job to pull that out of them. People aren’t science fair projects, we are not here to fix you but encourage you through every season. It’s messy. It’s not for the faint of heart but the success stories keep us going.
As a business owner, Pastor, Life Coach, and Father, I have realized as we take our mistakes and losses and learn from them not only can we thrive but the people around us will thrive both personally and professionally. We are just getting started and the future business and organizations to come will be even better because of what we have learned thus far.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Your first stop in this little city would definitely have to be Nutwood Winery, a family owned business that just happens to be some great friends, for a glass of wine and small bites with a beautiful scenery, live music and great vibe to kick you stay off here. Up next you’ve got to hit the square. Downtown LaGrange, catch a movie or some drinks and dinner with a little stroll around the fountain. You wouldn’t want to come this way without staying a few nights at Great Wolf Lodge with family and then of course ending the trip with the coolest crew in the city, our 3Life Fam & Friends on Sunday mornings at the barn to kick off your week with an encouraging message and friendliest people around.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my best friend and biggest cheerleader, my wife, Amanda. The saying has been said, “All you need is one person who believes in you”. With her by my side we can face any trial life throws our way and the sky is the limit. Also, I wouldn’t be where I am without my mentor and Pastor, Darryl Bellar, Senior Pastor of The Journey Church Fernandina Beach.
