We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Friedensohn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I come from a family of New Yorkers that fit a lot of the northeastern stereotypes of being tough, loving, big family, and lots of noise. I have 4 brothers and there are now 13 grandkids in the family. My parents are second generation immigrants from eastern Europe and my grand parents were young parents so I was able to spend a lot of amazing years with them. Growing up in a crazy household, my dad always had the FRIEDENSOHN FIVE: Hustle, Always be closing, Keep your head down, Stay humble, and keep on the yellow line.

I’ve tried to live my life and career by these principles.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are an opportunistic real estate investment firm that looks for buying opportunities where others are running away from. We have a culture of goal setting and celebrating our accomplishments and challenging each other to do more and a achieve greater results. Its been a learning curve since we founded the company in 2008.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’re getting in the car and driving north to the mountains with hiking boots, a bathing suit, and snacks to do an adventure in the southern appalachian mountains in north georgia

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Sal Ricciardi – my uncle who taught me discipline, focus, and ALWAYS do the right thing regardless the cost.

Rich Ashton – work ethic, its all about execution, how to look at problems differently

Michael Steer – my best friend and partner in crime, fun, and career growth

Dave Codrea – the driver of all things, set bigger goals and accomplish more than you can ever imagine

Jillian Friedensohn – my life partner since we were 12, my greatest achievement in life
