We had the good fortune of connecting with Joseph Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joseph, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is I am a living testament of everything the brand represents. When someone thinks of the brand and the positive movement behind the brand, they see my lifestyle and how I embrace reflecting positive energy out into the world. When someone sees the brand and the entrepreneurial side of the brand, I am a true reflection of a self-made entrepreneur who started one company and built an empire. When someone connects the brand to the embodiment of success and they see what I have accomplished, there is a clear correlation between myself and the brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder and owner of YMA Wealth Management Group. We are a business management company which is the home to several business entities. Under the business umbrella, we have Masters Credit Consultants, a credit repair firm specializing in credit repair, credit building, and credit restoration. The next company is YMA Financial, a business consultant firm that assist in business startups and expansion. The Pyramid Group with Keller Williams is a real estate team assisting clients in homebuying and home sales. We also operate a nonprofit, YMA CARES; we host one of the largest Christmas Toy Giveaways spanning over 2 counties every year.

What sets our company and each of the businesses apart from others in the industry is each employee is trained to work solely for the goals of the client. Each client is handled by their own representative employee of the company they are working with. Our employees treat their client goals as their own and work hard to help achieve each goal.

Building a company and business model like this was not easy. The hiring process is instrumental to putting the right people in place who have a passion for truly helping others. The training I received in my management job before becoming a full-time entrepreneur played a key part in my success. I learned the fundamentals of hiring and what to look for during the interview process.

I look over history in the corporate world and realize how important that stage of my life was. My day-to-day job as a business consultant allows me work with so many current business owners. I conduct a deep dive into their business and identify all the gaps. The same gaps that I learned as a Senior Operations Manager working as a salary employee. I never take for granted the skills I obtained working for a company. These same skills allowed me to master the functionalities of managing a business. These same skills were an instrumental part of my life and my current success.

As a brand, YMA Nation is a movement that excites people to chase their dreams. Joe and Rebecca Wallace launched a podcast called YMA Nation Podcast, that covers entrepreneurship, business, real estate, and sports news. YMA Nation has also created a music label to put out positive music to the culture. Joe Wallace has released several singles and features under this label, with a full mixtape release scheduled for 7/2/2021.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I feel mentors are key to helping any individual achieve certain plateau in life. In my life I feel my successes are built around my mentors, and individuals who at some point contributed a key segment that boosted me to the next level. I would like to first recognize my parents. As a teenager and young adult, we never understand the decisions and punishments our parents hold us to. As you mature and age, you realize how these decisions protected you and help mold you into a better person. I would like to acknowledge my sister, Roshebra Wallace, for always being a listening ear and wonderful support system of honest advice. I would like to recognize Terry Elliott, Sr., who guided me throughout my younger days and allowed me to see how us young African Americans can achieve success, even against the odds. I would like to thank Andre Hart who sacrificed so much of his time to help me build the brand to what it is today. Next, Brian Powell was a huge instrument in molding me into a young businessman and holding me accountable to efficiently operating a business, and not just having a business that runs. I would like to thank Thad Rooney and Jason Zell at Alorica, who allowed me to grow into a leader and manage a large population of employees. This allowed me to understand managing people, managing financials, and managing KPI’s, all which are critical to operating a successful business. Lastly, I would like to thank my wife, Rebecca Wallace. She is the ultimate reflection of the statement of being a backbone behind the man. She has contributed her life to work side by side with me as we chase these dreams of success.
