Meet Joselynne Boschen | Studio Owner, Master Trainer, Yoga & Pilates Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joselynne Boschen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joselynne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Empowered Pilates, was the same as the other studios that I have opened in the past. To create a space, a service and an environment that was missing in that area. I feel that there are MANY boutique studios these days. The quality of the programing and instruction is something that can be lost. The participants that may not notice, but this is something that I have always been passionate about. If you are going to do it, do it well and better than the rest. I believe when people come to our studio they can feel the difference. The Empowered Pilates style is the way I prefer to workout, a little bit of everything! Our space is warm and inviting with knowledgable instructors and good vibes.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Empowered Pilates offers a wide range of classes unlike other traditional pilates studios. Within those offerings we can host every fitness level. Class styles are categorized by difficultly and some require a certain number of sessions with us before progressing. Since we are an ATHLETIC version of reformer pilates, our style tends to speak for itself. I often hear, “Wow, I have never taken a reformer class like this!”
What I am most proud of is our ENERGY. The studio is known to have a very welcoming feel and design. Both rooms are filled with beautiful plants, vaulted ceilings and a vibe that makes you look forward to your workouts. From our relaxing and informative SLOW FLOW to the most challenging POWER class, we have something for everyday of the week to support your fitness lifestyle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend has come to visit from NYC my daughter and I had to take her on a tour of some cool things to do in ATL. We started at the Illuminarium for the outer space installation and rode scooters around the beltline! My daughter and I have the yearly membership to the Georgia Aquarium which is a must see. For date nights I love LaPeer in Alpharetta, or Lilly’s Sushi in Milton. The Alpharetta green space is a personal favorite to hang out in the late afternoon where the kids and play, the parents can have a drink at Chiringa while they are in eyesight. In the warmer months the kiddos cool off in the fountain so I always bring a bathing suite or a change of clothes! There is live music EVERYWHERE, Braves games are so fun, and The Fox Theatre has put up some great comedians. So much to do, how much time do you have?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been MANY people who have shaped my career. Joanne Lee back in the day from Gold’s Gym in Venice really changed how I viewed movement – she is a LEGEND. I have had the honor to brush elbows with some of the most brilliant minds in the fitness world from my time working with NIKE as well as TRX. I do think all of the positive female role models in my life sparked this “shoot for the stars” attitude that I have always had; from my mother, my dance teachers, my friends and the entire dance community/industry. You learn to push yourself and lead with your heart. You have to take a chance on yourself. What a gift to have learned at a very young age that we are all worth believing in. I hope to be that positive force for my daughter and this next generation. Shit, I hope to inspire women my age cause there is always time to make it happen!
