We had the good fortune of connecting with Jorge Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jorge, what do you attribute your success to?
Great question! In a space that at times can feel quite competitive, I look to differentiate myself with custom media solutions that are developed with a client’ first approach from end to end. This allows me to view my brand, services, customer service, etc. from their unique perspective to better understand them better, understand the current problems they are trying to solve, recognize what “mission accomplished” looks like, and then look for opportunities to further add value. Maintaining my clients’ best interests in mind has worked out wonderfully for them, and that in turn has been great for Jorge Media.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Without a doubt and from what I have been told- it is my inquisitive nature. From an early age, I was curious about everything I encountered, asked questions, and then questioned the answers with more questions. At times, I was told I was “terco”, which means stubborn in Spanish, but in the sense of not being satisfied with a simple answer. I believe this curiosity keeps me moving, learning, and furthering my craft!

This past year I had the opportunity to work with Hyundai and Annie Leibovitz on a campaign for one of their vehicles! Working with a huge and international brand is exciting but working with Annie is a whole different level! I have followed her and her portrait photography work for a while and so when I got the news, I was speechless! Working with her & her team, and Hyundai was an absolute privilege!

Circling back to me being “terco”, I’d say it is exactly that that has got me to where I am today. Not giving up, staying positive, and always learning and trying new things. I don’t like to stay still or in one place for too long. This has led me to work on a couple of startups, worked in tech for 10+ years, traveled extensively from the Americas to Europe, and now getting back to creative side with photography. I even moved to Arizona in 2018 and lived there about 1.5 years without knowing anyone with the sole intent to explore the natural landscapes in it and neighboring states to camp, hike, etc. and practice my landscape photography. Was all of this easy? Not at all, Was it all rewarding and would I do it all over again, absolutely! There is just so much to see and experience!

The world is large and our time is short.

Life is full of lessons and challenges, but these come with the gift of experience and the possibility of a very positive outcome. Treating others how I’d like to be treated, giving without expecting something in return, and leaving everywhere I go in a better state than how you found it are some of what guide me. Like Gandhi said, we should all be the change we wish to see in the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely would take them to the Beltline in both the West and the East side! Atlanta has taken some commendable steps to connecting the city in a more healthy and pedestrian friendly way, which was much needed! The Westside Park, Piedmont Park, The Works, and Ponce City Market for food & drinks. Other spots of course include the GA Aquarium, Centennial Park, Tallulah Falls and Yonah Mountain. If it is fall, early winter, or spring then we would definitely go hiking, mountain biking, and camping!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Love this question! That person is my uncle, John Prado. He has served a critical role in my life from an early age with advice in both personal life and professional aspects but also serves as a great inspiration. His calm demeanor, positive attitude, focus, values, professionalism, fortitude, success, and more, are what I strive to emulate every day in my life. Gracias, Tio!

I’d also like to give a special thanks to my family, friends, my pup Luna, and especially to my incredible fiancé- Raffaela. Her encouragement, love, energy, and support mean everything to me, as does she. Without it, this journey would have been very different, not as easy, or perhaps not possible. Thank you, mi amor!

Special thanks to Shoutout for the opportunity. It has been a pleasure!
