We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordana Monteiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At first, I was very hesitant due to fear of failing or what people might think, but I decided to combine something I was great at and pursue it on my own instead of working for someone else. Starting and business is a daunting journey, but you need to trust in your dreams and learn along the way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my ability to truly connect with my clients. For me, the connection I build with them is priceless. Beyond making them look beautiful, I genuinely care about their well-being. I also believe in offering accessible prices. There’s nothing more rewarding than handing a client a mirror after a procedure and seeing their confidence light up with a smile.

I’ve been on my journey in the aesthetics world for over 10 years. During this time, I’ve reestablished my licenses in three different states, starting from scratch each time with no clients. Filling my schedule with clients who specifically sought me out as their service provider was a significant accomplishment and a testament to the quality of my work. It wasn’t easy—I often found myself on my knees, asking God for guidance and just enough to cover my bills. But I never once considered giving up as an option.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that every journey is unique, and it’s crucial not to compare yourself to others in the same industry. It’s cliché to say, but the blessings meant for you will find you at the right time, even during tough times. What I want people to take from my story is to never second-guess your dreams or fear the unknown—just take that first step and learn as you go.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Josenilda Sprague. Her hard work as a first-generation immigrant paved the way for my sister and me to have a better life in the United States. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her support. Also, my ex boss Andrea Guilmet owner of Brazilian wax by:Andreia She is a pioneer in the waxing business in Atlanta. With her I learned all the important foundation to get where I am business wise, her vision of business is admirable and followed by many that worked under her at some point during their journey.
