We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordana Dale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am a photographer who shoots fashion and portraits and I always thrifted to style my shoots. It got to to the point where my studio wardrobe was overflowing so I began selling my clothes to make room for more!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always loved fashion and expressed it through my own clothes and my photography. Growing up I also always shopped at thrift stores so thrifting became an easy way to find unique clothing for the visions for the shoots I had in my mind. Reselling these items was the natural progression after I would use them for photoshoots.

Harold Babez is different from other clothing resellers because we’re focused on a variety of sizes and showcase the items on different body types. The images showcase real people, un-retouched, in a very straight forward and honest way. We want to promote body positivity and self love through our love for vintage fashion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my best friends is going to visit in April and I’m going to take her along the beltline, probably stop at Krog St Market for lunch, grab coffee at Chrome Yellow, shop at my favorite second hand stores like Mother Lode, dinner at Carroll St Cafe, an improv comedy show at Dad’s Garage and then a night cap at Estoria.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business is named after the group of girls who I lived with on Harold Ave, we were the Harold Babez – Pip the Pansy, Dasha Lebedev and Rachel Lanquist. I also would not have been able to restart this business when I needed to without the help of my friends Erin and Jamie!
