Meet Jordan Searcy: Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Searcy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I believe for so long Christians were stereotyped as “perfect people,” who had to be a certain way or act a certain way. Quiet frankly, that’s not what Christians are. As a Christian, we are imperfect people striving to be the best we can be each day. While it’s not always easy, we trust the process. So, we aim for progression, not perfection. Having experienced a lot of these stereotypes myself, I wanted to create a space where young adults could freely express their faith and have open and honest conversations about their walk with God.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My blog sets out to emphasize that you can be a Christian but also live your best life. As stated, there are so many stereotypes around how Christians should act, how they should talk, what they should wear, etc. My goal is to help break down those stereotypes. As Christians, we are imperfect people just like anyone else, but what we fall short in, we are extended grace. I used to aspire to be that perfect person. After a while, it takes a toll on you. Understanding that I won’t always get it right but that God still loves me in spite of all of the flaws and imperfections keeps me going.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is such a great city to be in. There is always something to do. From restaurants to pop up events and festivals, there are a few places and things I would recommend. Ponce City Market is definitely one of those places. What’s not to love? There are a ton of shopping and eateries to choose from, you are close to the Belt Line where you can walk the food off and get some fresh air, and there is even a rooftop with some of the best city views. I would highly recommend. Piedmont Park is also a good idea to get some fresh air. There are many concerts and festivals hosted at Piedmont. You could also plan a picnic there. The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is also in close proximity. You really can’t go wrong in whatever you choose.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my beautiful mother. She is the strongest, most courageous person I know. She has taught me to always be myself, to love and treat others with respect even when it is not reciprocated, and most importantly, she has instilled in me the power of faith and prayer. I strive to be like her every single day. The world is a much better person with her in it. She is the epitome of class, hard work, determination, and just an all around boss!
