Hi Jordan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always knew I would start a business one day but I did not know it would be at 18 years old. I come from a family of hard working business people that have assisted me along my journey. I came up with the idea of my business in 2021 when I got tired of having a hard time finding affordable jewelry that won’t turn/tarnish. I knew I wasn’t the only one with this problem. I then decided I needed to find a solution to this problem which led me to starting “Luxe Jewelry by Jordan Perez”. The idea behind Luxe is that it you can find affordable luxury jewelry that won’t turn/tarnish. Luxe Jewelry by Jordan Perez won’t break your bank, turn your skin green AND you get to keep up with the latest jewelry trends.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Luxe Jewelry by Jordan Perez is an online jewelry store that is differentiable in many ways. First, the jewelry sold in Luxe is affordable yet trendy! At times, it can be difficult to find jewelry on trend that doesn’t hurt your pockets. Second, Luxe is also tarnish free as it is made from 316L Stainless Steel. This means you can wear our jewelry and not have to worry about taking it off in water or your skin turning green! And third, Luxe is a brand that was built to empower women and make them feel luxurious when putting our pieces on. I am most proud of starting my business while being a full time student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. But this has also been my biggest challenge. Being in school while simultaneously running a business can be difficult. To overpower this challenge, I try to manage my time to balance both. I have learned that if I continue to stay focused and let my passion drive me, I will be successful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my best friends who is also a big supporter of Luxe is visiting me in Atlanta from D.C. soon, so I’ll share our itinerary! Some of the best restaurants in the city are:

Jojo’s cocktail lounge (drinks)
One of my favorite activities to do in Atlanta is attend LIPS ATL which is a drag show! I would go to one everyday if I could!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My story would not be possible without my parents. Starting a business is trivial. Thankfully my parents run a business of their own so growing up in my household taught me a lot about business operations, challenges and how to be successful in the business world. Not only did I learn a lot from my parents about what it takes to run a business, but they provided me with the funds I needed to get started. To me, their support and belief in me meant the world and pushes me to be successful. So to that I say thank you to my Mama & Papa!
